TIME FOR UPDATES!!!! I know its been a while.

Since I've last updated this thread I've gotten myself a 35i M Performance Exhaust, had the car tinted, and installed a dash cam!

Not going to lie, the MPE is very underwhelming when revving, it almost sounds like the car is suffocating, hah, revving sounds very dry. Under load however it really does sound great, no drone, the right amount of loud, and very smooth. I'll post a cold start and rev video soon.

Its worth mentioning that the worked needed to put this muffler on is no different than the stock 35i muffler, just take it in and have it welded on.



The tints really aren't worth showing since they're legal, so the front windows aren't tinted. I figure if I'm going to have a front plate I might as well just let the car be fully legal (also getting pulled over when it wasn't didn't help anything, but I'll admit it's rare to get pulled for that).

I went with the Blackvue DR650GW-2CH which means I have front and rear cameras.

It records constantly while I am driving and will record on motion detection when I shut the car off.

Very nice. Exhaust is on my distant-future list for my 335i but I have no idea what setup to get. Stock actually sounds pretty darn good (better than I expected) but there are times I want a louder startup and acceleration sound. My friend has an M235i and it sounds far more aggressive but I think it is because that car has the audio synthesizer playing in the cabin; it isn't actually any different from a physical exhaust setup.

The M235 probably has active sound, but it also has a shorter pipe distance from the engine to the muffler which probably makes a difference too.

Might as well go catless. HFC won't pass smog here. Catless is cheaper and will yield more power and sound lol b

Muffler cost me about 250 and 80 bucks to have welded on. The stock 435 diffusor was about $90 from BMW of Bridgewater online parts. Excellent service from them btw!

So in terms of pricing, the muffler was only $250? I have been looking all around and could not find anything close to that range. I would love to know where you got yours.

Thats surprising, because I see stock mufflers even cheaper now on the forums, 150~ range. M Performance can be had for 650-750 if you wait abit.

I will tell you though that after having both, I think the 428i M Performance Exhaust sounds better.

Some updates, I've been lazy.

After having the 35i setup for a while I've decided to switch back to the 28i setup. Even though the 35i setup looks awesome, it really doesn't sound that great, and when it comes to my car I really look for a great exhaust note.

The 28i M Performance exhaust sounds excellent, and really makes the N20 sound pretty damn good (with some other changes).

I did the opposite from you. I started with the twin exhaust M Perf diffuser and then changed to the 335i one when I changed my exhaust to Bastuck. I agree the twin exhaust on the left sounds better but I prefer your set up with 335i diffuser looks wise.

Yeah I've been all over the place when it come to the exhaust setup, I am truly happiest with how this one sounds tho which is what really matters.

Someone who has a 428i and looking to upgrade the exhaust for looks and sound. Would you say there is a significant increase in sound for 35I mpe. I know you already like 28I mpe best. But obviously shallowness with duel sided exhausts needs some account. Please reply.
