Hey guys,

Just received mine today!

Install was easy breezy, only took min or two. Hardest part was figuring out where to safely mount this thing lol

In my opinion, I think this is well worth the upgrade for such low price. Don't expect any kind of wow factors but it is definitely noticeable improvement, gives more responsive throttle and nice little bite to it.

I do wonder about the 362hp/375trq Dinan claimed? I'm not sure how accurate Sports Display in iDrive is but it went no where near that amount even with Race mode. Perhaps actual Dyno will bring out the truth!

Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend it!

Sports display doesn't show much more than throttle position anyway. But I believe Dinan said their numbers are crank and not to the wheels so that should be taken into account

The sport display is not accurate. It is not a rolling dyno. All it is doing is reporting what the car should, in theory be making given load and RPM. Its simply referencing a chart some dud in Germany made and displaying it. It is not taking live measurements. As the gentleman below also noted however is that all the numbers we report are crank numbers, not wheel. In very general terms its a 12-13% drivetrain loss since thats always the next question. Not as simple as that but it gets you pretty close.

Regardless, glad you are enjoying it!

Thanks for the review. Been seeing install takes under 2 minutes.

How is daily drivability? Also, any jerkiness with Race setting throughout the rpm range?

question:
on the dinantronics sport chart, you have the measured stock hp/trq as 340/336 (for the n55)

but on the dinan stage 1 tune chart, you have the measured stock hp/trq as 327/379

why such a discrepancy in the initial stock reading?

I have mine set to race and it feels great for daily drive I think. Before, I would feel little lag when I give some gas but now it seems to pull better consistently. I haven't experienced any jerkiness either, hopefully won't lol

Good to know. How is it at WOT? Does the car still shift normal?

Thanks for the feedback!

Different test cars, different weather conditions for testing, different dyno (technically the same dyno but it has been updated since elite testing so the software being updated/calibrated slightly differently probably has a hand in it as well). Ultimately all that really matters though is the deltas as that is what will translate regardless of what the start/end numbers are. As has been discussed countless times dynos are tools not a be all, end all finite measuring device.

Tune is great so far!! Really fun

Edit: After driving it for a whopping 15 mins, I will say this..

The power is not spotty at all, and install was SO easy. It is very instant and pulls hard (in sport) Comfort still has the facets of being comfort driven, but there is some more umph. Sport mode you can hear the turbos spool quicker, as well as the tq build up. THIS WAS DONE IN SPORT + because I dont have a droid...I cant wait to see the race setting!!

Just so I know Im not going I had my friend drive it, and he was like whoa, there is an immediate difference-- he is my only "car" friend, he is a salesmen at benz and we test drive a lot of the new cars--just drove a new c450 and I want to say that the 335 is faster than this, and has more TQ now--or WE think it feels that way.

GREAT upgrade for 300 bucks. I recommend it. HOWEVER, if you really want to customize your car and get MORE umph out of it, JB4 is the way to go. If you want just a boost controller to make the car even more fun to drive, get this!!!!

I recommend this!

Does the tune leave any codes stored if I were to remove it before taking it in the car for warranty work?

No codes are generated from the unit. If some catastrophic failure occurred and PUMA was introduced they could find out a tune was present if they dug far enough. Anyone who tells you otherwise about any tune (piggyback or flash) is lying to you or is simply misinformed.

Do you have any idea how long this info is stored? Meaning if you used a boost controller like this or jb4, took it off for a year, and the engine had a catastrophic failure, would a puma inspector be able to still find traces of the tune?
