Could JB4 Map 1 cause DME 118602/P2096?

I have a '15 435i that has sporadically given me DME 118602/P2096 - Oxygen sensor before catalytic convertor fine mixture control, exhaust gas after converter too lean.

I understand this could be attributable to several things...more air in the system or a bad O2 sensor.

Here's the thing - it only comes on when I have JB4 Map 1 turned on. Additionally, it takes a really really really long time for it to come on, like months after switching to the map. It takes so long that I forget about it until one day it pops up.

The first time this happened, I cleared the code and switched to JB4 Map 0...the code never came back in over a year. Then I installed the MPE and was playing around with the exhaust flap settings and decided to turn Map 1 on again. That was several months ago...and then the code came back yesterday.

Would there be something in the Map 1 tune that could be causing this condition? If I came back within a few months with the Map 1 off - I'd consider starting to poke around to check for any air leaks..but its just fine with Map 1 off, so its got me confused.

I have a chargepipe and upgraded intercooler - but other than everything is stock.

Car drives fine with or without the CEL on.

Thanks!
