Nice movie but it is NOT 4K UHD. It is just 1080 HD.

Bizarre that the front page lists it as 4K. I will say that it's nice to see 1080p60 video though. I get really tired of staring at interlacing artifacts in car videos. This video was really well produced. Didn't care for the music, but the overall quality was great.

Did anyone else feel like the offset on the rears was just a little too far out? The tires stick out from under the lip pretty bad. Never really cared for that look.

Beautiful car! Great video. Perfect song choice too haha

Would love to shoot my M3 if I bring her back to LA. Might need to find some scenic roads out here in MD and get my gopro and camera out!

Curious to know where you're seeing the mention of 4K? It just shows 1080p60 on my screen.

What type of gear would be needed to shoot this type of video? Saw a few decent quality vids like this recently and I'm just curious.

It's featured on the Bimmerpost homepage with the title: "435i in 4K HD on Angeles Crest Highway (Video)".

You can shoot a great looking video with a cell phone these days. The gear isn't the important part, it's the knowledge of cinematography and post-processing/editing.

Having said that, a lot of folks shoot using a DSLR that is capable of shooting 1080p video. That gives you some extra control so you can do things like a focus pull or shoot a scene with good control over the amount of bokeh. Outside of that, you'll probably want some kind of steadicam for handheld work, and a decent tripod with a panhead for pan shots. You can DIY a steadicam for under $20, but a good tripod will cost you a few bucks.

For post/editing, you'll need something like Final Cut X, and something like Motion for motion graphics. There are Adobe alternatives as well.

Last, but not least, you'll need hours and hours and hours and hours of time to learn how to use it all

Thanks for the info. I have a DSLR with video mode but i've never really used it for shooting video. I doubt i would be able to get results like that anyway.

Depending on the DSLR, you might be surprised. Early DSLRs, like the Nikon D90, were pretty bad at video, but most newer models will shoot 1080p. You should take it out and give it a shot. Throw together a DIY steadicam and shoot some footage!

Mine is a Canon 550d, so a lower range camera, with a 15-85mm lens. I might try and give it a go one day though!
