I enjoyed the first season, got confused watching season 2 and now totally lost with season 3. In fact didn't even manage to finished the last episode as so bored.

It’s nothing to do with Vikings on Prime and isn’t a follow on from it. But it’s pretty good, not quite as good as Vikings first few series, which were brilliant. But probably better than the ones since Ragnar died on Vikings.

Both series are definitely worth a watch though. Just on series 4 of Last Kingdom, only one episode to go before I have to start my search for next box set.

With the wife we always have to have a less gory and violent box set on the go. And in the current environment she wanted something light and not too heavy, so now we’re on series one of Downton, ha ha. Which I’m actually enjoying instead of the usual man trash I watch. Not seen a single axe embedded in a head yet. Maybe that’s still to come.

Downton is actually quite good.
Following the familiy during the years from before WW1 is interesting.
Seeing how the conservative behavior changes and loosen up a bit during the years is quite funny.

I finished Afterlife yesterday. Thought it was quite good. The tragic of a man loosing his wife, and the humor in the way he behaves, is a really good mix.

I also finished Westworld season 3 yesterday. 1 and 3 seasons are absolutely the best. 1 season where man controls machine and 3 where its almost the other way around......makes you think how far AI can go......

Loved Vikings but your right, it went down hill since Ragner died in it. The last series was better though.

Agree series 1-3 of Viking’s were excellent .. started to go downhill in series 4, and series 5 sucked.

Only watched the first couple of episodes of Last Kingdom then ditched it.

For anyone who likes historical series like the Vikings, there’s a HBO series called Rome from around 2005 which is excellent if you haven’t already seen it.

Rome was excellent. Well worth a watch if it's still available somewhere. Kind of a prequel to Spartacus, which I also enjoyed until the main guy playing Spartacus sadly passed away.

Oh yes..Rome is one of the best series ever made. The Rome budget was 100million dollars per series, HBO ended it after the second series because it was too expensive. A lot of the production crew from Rome went on to later work on Game of Thrones where they learned from their mistakes with Rome and managed to get the budget down to 60million per series... initially at least.

The Spartacus series wasn’t quite in the same league as Rome but I did quite enjoy it. I watched all 4 series of Spartacus, even with the replacement Spartacus actor who I thought did a reasonable job in the role.

It’s worth persevering with. I watched this before Vikings and felt the same about that until I got into it. The styles are different and it’s off putting at first when you go from one to the other, but once you’ve watched a few, both are still pretty good.

I think that’s the problem I had with it. I watched the first 3 series of Vikings first, which are very good with Ragnar in his prime etc.

I couldn’t get into The Last Kingdom possibly due to it being so different and preferring the style of the early Vikings series.

Eh spoiler alert for Vikings!!

For what it’s worth I’d agree - first few seasons of Vikings were brilliant but now I prefer The Last Kingdom.

Hollywood is an enjoyable watch. Very well acted and produced, and in the current climate it's quite a feel good series.

I really got hooked by Ozark. Seasons 1 and 2 were good but S3 is a classic example of seemingly running out of coherent ideas. I'm finding it tedious and now I simply want to get to the end and make it stop.

same here.
They eliminated all the fantastic (mostly male) lead characters and seson 3 was quite weak as a result.
