G series brake conversion discussion

I have a question in regards to using the G11/20/30 series 4 piston calipers in the F series cars.

It seems like it could be budget solution for people wanting to upgrade their F series brakes to something larger than the usual blue 340/370x30 4 pots.
The G series brakes comes with 348/374x36, from what I gather you want use the earlier 5 series rotors; such as the E50 M5 units (374x36 with a 120 bolt pattern).

Has anyone attempted this conversion on the F series? The parts are simple to source and it should give you reasonable gains in the overall breaking experience.

No one has tried it for the marginal gains. The current F3x series options are just as good with pads and fluid. The extra 4mm in diameter and 6mm in rotor width isn't worth it for the street as far as ROI. You have to figure out a mounting solution, etc.

Trying to install brakes not specifically designed for your vehicle is never a good idea, regardless of how many "try this ...." avenues may be recommended.

Patently false. So many brembo, ap racing etc kits that are not designed for cars but instead adapted. The R&D done for adaptation is readily available on the internet if someone wants to do the same thing. BMW is not doing anything revolutionary or proprietary there.

- Keep the total piston surface area within the bounds of your master cylinder, or get an MC that can support the new caliper(s)
- keep a similar brake bias

That's about it. The formulas are on the internet. Not at all saying that the typical forum member has the know how or drive to do it correctly. But it is also not unattainable for someone who has the drive to complete it safely. There are just enough off the shelf options available that have a better ROI for time and money spent.
