I'd love to blame the missus for mine, but she doesn't drive, so it's all on me :P

Finally got a break in the rain to wash and wax Hanz. A fresh wax job adds at least 10 hp at the wheel.

Anyone have a recommendation for a reasonably price roof box (US)?
Also do you use the BMW cross bars? Thanks!

Reasonably priced…I had to think of it as a long term purchase and divide the price of the Thule over x number of road trips. Stock BMW bars.

The OEM cross bars are half the price of some competitors and are really easy to mount/dismount. I think they're even made by Thule. The only downside is the cross bar height, which is higher than some of the other aero bars. For carriers, unfortunately you pay for what you get.

I also have Thule Aero bars from my previous E61, but it was cheaper to purchase used BMW bars then it was to purchase new Thule feet and fit kit for the F31. Also, just in case you do get a roof box, check its width. I have a older BMW bike holder (with upright) and cannot fit the Thule box and bike holder on the rack side by side. With Thule bars you can go with wider ones, that might allow for the box and another attachment, but they'll stick out a bunch past the feet.
