318d Remaps

Hi all, long time reader, first time poster. I just wanted to ask a general opinion on remapping.

Basically I’ve just bought a 2015 F30 318d M Sport. It has the N47T and a full main dealer service history. I’m not really concerned about the chain as the engine has always been looked after before I owned it.

So here’s my question…. I’d like a little more power. I know the engine itself is the same engine code but are the turbo, injectors etc etc the same as the 320d? Is it just the ECU that’s de-tuned? Is it safe to map the car to around 190bhp (which I assume is what I’ll get). And, will the remap cause unnecessary stress to the existing parts including the chain.

Thanks

The injectors are definitely different, so the 320d nails more like the 318d.
