ZF8 automatically shifts to P when rolling with opened door

Yeah, i know it is the safety feature, but i am thinking did anyone heard that this safety feature broke parking pawl on ZF8?

It happened to me today while i was leaning through door trying not to scratch anything in garage, around 4-5 km/h, while i was parking.

Did you have your seat belt on? If not it's supposed to do that. Anton Yelchin would probably still be alive if his Jeep was so equipped.

I think i did not, i was manouvering in garage. I am just asking how strong/firm/tough is parking pawl, and how many situations like this can handle?

Keep your seat belt buckled when in gear and you'll never have to find out.

The transmission isn't going to hurt itself. Since you know how the feature works now, you can avoid doing it.
