2012 335i Luxury - variable valve timing error

HI!
I am new to the whole BMW thing, just bought a 335i luxury 2012 for a really good price from Denmark. I am facing several errors, starting from start/stop not being switchable - switching on/off on itself. Just installed brand new battery, hoping that was the cause but no.
The bigger problem is the variable valve timing error code, and the phenomenon is that I can hear loud air sounds (random pitch and strength) - independent of engine rev almost.. Also the car informed me about the many failures resulting in VVT not working and switched off. Also once I had an error message about transmission gear failure, but that disappeared in 1o sec.
The car does not seem reliable in this form, I dont wwant to spend a fortune. Considering returning it to seller due to hidden error (also the mileage was fvked with, almost 1oo.ooo km extra)
Any suggestions other than burning it?
THanks

If you can return it, I would. Messing with the mileage is a massive red flag.

2012 was also the first model year for F30 vehicles. This + unknown mileage = if you can return it, by all means try.

I have a 2012. I see no reason to judge that specifically. Of course, by getting a 2012/2013 you are getting a PWG car (yes I know some 2013 are EWG). And the other strike against it would be CIC instead of NBT. But otherwise, the build is the same until the LCI models, unless you have another specific part number that you know changed.

2012 F30 models had quite a few production changes which is not uncommon for the first year model. Agreed: it's not a problem per se. One could determine the part numbers which changed by researching RealOEM component by component.

I waited until 2013 F30 335i could be ordered.

Please do not interpret this to be argumentative- but I've heard that parroted a few times, yet no one has ever been able to specifically identify part number changes between 2012 and 2013. Do you know of any? I can think of various changes between pre-LCI and LCI, as well as already mentioned things- PWG vs EWG, CIC vs NBT (though some 2013's still got PWG and CIC).

Sometimes parts are improved without changing the part number.
Famous example: The first F30's in 2012 had rusty seat frames. BMW fixed that later, but part number never changed.

Interesting, thank you for the info. I had no idea this was a 'thing'!
