HELP!! car was rough idling then stalled 481b03

hello, recently, my car got rough idling and then stalled, no code on the idrive. turned off and restarted the engine, car ran fine. i hooked it up to the bimmerlink, code 481b03 was popped up. its says fuel pump current too low.

Cleared the code, and drove the car again, it was fine. checked for code, NO code. Later, the car got the problem again. same code popped back up.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

FYI: im from vegas, rn temperature can be 100-115. idk if anything to do with heat. A year ago, this happened once. restarted the engine, car ran fine. Took it to dealership while under warranty, they said no code active. nothing they can do.

Get a video for your dealer, no matter the temp this isn't normal. Especially not on a "cold start" Gonna assume this is your LPFP failing but someone with more input will probably be able to tell you more. I'd stop clearing that code & let the dealer see it, clearing the code will not fix this issue unfortunately.

As said above, it's likely that your hpfp is failing

+1. Dont clear the code. Next time it happens, pull out your phone and get a video. You can even pull the code in the video, but dont clear it. Leave it on, then go in. Show the video for the symptoms, although they are going to go based off the code anyways.

okay guys, I hooked up bimmerlink, and looking at the sensory values specifically lpfp, and fuel rail pressure(which i assume hpfp).

So, this is happening again. After a drive, parked the car, the car idle normally, the rail pressure was around 1200-1400 psi, the lpfp is about 98 psi. when the car started shaking, the rail pressure drop to like below 100psi, then stalled. the lpfp value remains constant. the same code popped up 481b03

I thought there was no LPFP pressure sensor... You could be reading values that arent 'real'. I have seen that with Torque app for example, it shows active values for PIDs even though there is no such sensor and the value is just some random number (that sometimes makes sense).

HPFP rail pressure is correct. Sounds like you definitely have a fuel supply issue. It could be HPFP, but that is mechanical, so its unlikely to be failing intermittently. Sounds more like LPFP or its related electronics (i.e., EKP). Could in theory be either, though.

It could be your HPFP. Mine failed in a very similar manner. I first thought it was the LPFP since it stalled when driving about 25 mph in town but after swapping out my stage 2 LPFP for the stock LPFP within 24 hrs it stalled again, this time accelerating on the highway. HPFP replaced, no problems since. i had low fuel pressure codes both times it stalled.

Either your hpfp or ekp. I'd more lean towards hpfp. Both would give you similar symptoms
