Rhd to Lhd how to do it?

Hello everbody I am going to work in liverpool from september until december and I am thinking in buy a car (very cheap in uk) and change everything from Rhd to Lhd when I come back to spain. What do you think? there are too many thinks to change? I has been looking in real oem and the steering column is the same. For the moment I have checked that I need to change the dashboard the dashboard chasis, electrical steering, front door panels, center console, front floor covering, and my concern is if I will have space for the steering column in the left side.

If you are serious...

Budget around £6500 for a RHD to LHD conversion. Dash, centre console, steering rack, headlights, gear lever, steering wheel, steering controls such as indicator stalk... wiper arms... door switches and controls... most of it you will have to source off the internet for a lower price.

As I posted in the main forum.....

That does appear a lot of work, will you really save costs?

Don’t forget you have things like wiring looms, brake lines, door mirrors, wiper sweep, to consider as well.

What of value further down the line? Conversions usually dramatically devalue a used car.

Are you related to Lobb? Sounds crazy to me.

Surely you'll be better off selling the car and buying a new one. What you'd lose is far less than what it would cost to do the conversion, plus the loss in value. I'd hate to think what your insurance company would make of that modification list too

Conversions were bad enough years back when conversions were relatively simple. Plus the problem of a very limited market to move them on, for the obvious reasons.

Surely looking at prices in other European countries with LHD could be a better bet, if Spain really is expensive.

Easily 100 hours of labor or more...and that doesn't even start to include any parts.

Remember the entire wiring harness is backwards.

Well over 20k. That's the cost just to repair those cars that get their interiors stolen.

If you really like the car and want to keep it just keep it RHD. I drive on the continent in my RHD car and think nothing of it.

I was mulling over what I'd do with my cars if I moved to a job in Switzerland and decided I'd be happy to take mine with me!
