Rear brake wear sensor

Hi,
So i have this fault code of the rear brake pads wear sensor.
I have already ordered new one, the thing is that the rear pads are in good condition.
My question is, if i will put the new sensor, and don't replace the pads, the fault code will still be there?

Did you install a new sensor when you replaced the pads?

Did you reset the brake service interval when you replaced the pads?

I didn't replaced any pads. I have the car for about 5 months.

As I see it, the previous owner didn't replace the sensor and as I saw in my I Drive system, he also didn't reset the rear brake pads service.

The fault code came up last week, I'm waiting for the wear sensor to arrive.
From good search in the net, I know that I have to replace the wear sensor to delete the fault code, and reset the service interval.
Because I tried to delete the code and it didn't go well.

My main question is if I will put the new sensor, and don't replace the pads, the fault code will still be there?
Because if yes, I will replace the rear pads also. even if they are in great condition.

The car can't tell and doesn't care if you replaced the pads or not. So long as the sensor is functional you can do a reset. However, you might need an OBD diagnostic and repair tool to do it. I don't recall if it was the front or the back but I do remember that one would reset using the dashboard button but the other wouldn't, and I had to use my Foxwell NT510.

Thank you very much for the reply!

And yes, you right.
The one who wouldn't reset with the dashboard button is the rear pads. (as long as you have the fault code).
