Just a thought

Is there somewhere on this forum to write up both good and bad BMW dealers ? Both service centres and sales teams too

Nothing to focus the mind like bad publicity and, of course, praise where praise is due too.

Do we need to, when each dealer has feedback/review ratings from a wide spread of customers already? Just look at any BMW dealer's site and see sales and service feedback.

Here is the review page from the BMW garage I use, as an example. BTW, the reviews reflect my experience, excellent BMW garage.

For to agree with highland Pete in saying grassicks great. Took me out in a 330d, a320d and then a 135i Msport just for fun. Little to no pressure to buy the cars either. John Clark in Aberdeen were great too. Had the managers car out for an hour with no salesman in the car. Totally sold me on the 330d but the spec and price were wrong

I too took my 1 series to Grassics in Perth (well i live here too) and Ivan was great. Had the juddering clutch and with no quibbles whatsoever had the whole clutch assembly was replaced.

(I also have relations to the family that work there too)

Pete, I agree that the star system works well and to be honest I didn't think of it, but this forum can provide the added value of discussion too.

Garage List
My first experience with BMW was buying a used 120d from Northern Ireland. Chap called Owen from Bavarian sorted me out - did a proper walk around with a customer hat on and got scratches/wheel marks fixed. Did me a good discount and delivered to me. Risky buying unseen I driven but was a v positive experience.

Lexus in Gloucester tried to steal my dad's deposit. He's paid it for a 4x4 he's liked which turned out they'd sold to someone else already then the dealer tried to suggest that because there was another one (poverty spec one) in their line up they'd insist my dad was at fault for not switching. One nicely worded letter got a Cheque back within a week!

Lexus in edgware eventually sold him the car but it turned out to have accident damage and the paintwork kept flaking off. They hinted later they knew about it too. Crooks!

Finally he got an e class cabriolet from Cardiff Mercedes which turned out to have noises from the door and which they must have done Łks of bogus warranty work but didn't sort. So they offered him a swap with a 3 month old s class. The s class has been in at least 10 times with engine light trouble and suspension etc. over the last year. This dealership totally screwed up my dad's ambition of owning a merc...

On a positive there a BMW dealership in Cambridge who sent me a whole video personally for me just on an off hand phone enquiry of a second hand car. Will defo keep his number in my dealer-book!

Years ago I saw a Pug 105 that someone had stuck "TURBO" on the back in chromed vinyl lettering. Only they'd spelt it "TUBRO".

I sense a 'requested' review or customer survey can possibly give a better average of what we can expect from a particular garage. Discussions on the forums do tend to get a bit skewed, (from my observations), as many come on forums because they have issues. Adds to the reality of ownership, but does leave a large unheard voice that doesn't commonly get expressed on forums.

I do appreciate many forums have regular members reporting 'real time' on car ownership, so we do get a better feel for all issues of ownership, from those members.
