IMO you'll get a better F31 than an F11 at that budget...

Up to £15k even better and you'll get better F11s in that range too...

Can you up your budget at all?

Ha! used to be in Swaffham, moved to Hunst'on couple of years ago. If you head this way at some point you're welcome to have a look for the size of the car, just to give you an idea.

Sure you'll still find a nice one at that budget though.

Although in saying that; some nice examples of F11 530Ds on AT currently:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...=15000&fromsra

This looks a lovely car also; but the rear ride height is wrong; looks like it needs to be sorted with ISTA:

See what you mean about the ride height on the second one.

First one is nice but not sure how the interior will fair with young kids.

The leathers good wearing; easy to keep clean. I had similar in my previous F01 (no kids) but did get dirty with me through training (I do a lot of stonelifting etc) and gardening etc...

Yeah; it's either had rear SLS bags fitted and they're crappy Chinese ones; of they've not run ISTA to re-adapt the ride height values etc

Watch out on the F1x, there are so many that are just on boggy halogen lights, when I was looking less than 30% for sale had xenon’s, which were a must for me.

Keep your eye out for bargains too, I paid 7.5k for my 2011 F10 530d from an independent dealer, ok it had 110k miles but also some rarer options (compared to a lot of others I saw) like adaptive lights, comfort seats (these are simply epic) and sunroof. The paints not perfect but I’ve not had chance to get the DA on it yet which will make it fine to my eyes! People can’t believe it when I tell them how old it is and how many miles it’s done, the interior is very good for age/mileage. On the whole it is a ridiculous amount of car for the money, especially considering modern car prices!

The gov mot history checker is well worth a check too before wasting your time visiting a car as you will get a good idea of if it’s been generally looked after or has some minors that are going to become majors!

That’s all good to know thank you. I only had halogens on my F30 and that was a bug bear of mine. What are comfort seats?? Not seen that as an option but sounds good to me.

I use mot checker quite a bit. There is a car near me for sale which ticks a lot of boxes but mot checker mentions a ‘slight’ leaking diff on the last mot. Selling dealer bats it’s off as nothing to worry about.

Basically super comfy with just about every type of adjustment you can get with both driver and passenger side seat memory.

lol of course they would, cheeky dealers! At the min if you were interested in the car you would want a mech to look at it and assess.

Thanks for that. Never seen it mentioned before.

This is for sale not far from me at a main dealer. Not m sport or 6 cylinder though. But seems an ok buy. Colour combo not to everyone’s taste.

That looks pretty tidy.

Mine is also an SE, didn’t want an M Sport as didn’t want the harder suspension.

2 things I’d point out, no xenon lights and those 17” wheels look lost on a F1x, I thought I could live with them on mine but they are just too small and I hated the style so swapped for some 18’s.

FYI xenon clusters look like this (multiple led indicators not bulbs):

Here’s mine with the 18s:

The small bus nav screen is an easy upgrade with an android unit, I went for the big 12” one which make the interior more like the later BMW’s. You can get ones that fit like oem pro nav though.

The base stereo is very average, I swapped the speakers and underseat subs and added a small amp, and it sounds way better, but it’s just about liveable with stock.

Also fitted a front splitter:

I like the concept of the android units and tried a Bavarian automotive one I’m in my F30 but couldn’t get on with it. Maybe pilot error.

Definitely needs bigger wheels you are right.

Lights I think I can live with as still look better than the halogens on my f30

Might look better that the 3er but the output of Xenons is far far greater than halogens and you can't beat decent lights on country roads. IMO it's definately an option to seek.

I purchased my current F30 from SCS in Burnley around 2 years ago. The guy I was dealing with (forgot his name) was great and made the process very hassle-free. Highly recommended

Adam I think it was as he's who we dealt with (and who you mentioned to me) if my memory serves me right...
