Lumbar support oddity

I fitted lumbar support to my electric seats some time ago, but was having a time finding a seat control switch with the lumbar button along with memory and side support so I improvised and used a round button in the mean time which worked fine.

Recently managed to get the correct seat control switch and installed it transferring the two wires form the round switch into the plug in pins 9 & 10 as per the wiring diagrams. If I put the wires back on the round switch, then it works again as expected.

Anybody got any idea? Could it be a faulty switch?
