328d fuel filter change and fuel purge

Has anyone figured out how to purge the fuel system after changing the fuel filter on the F30 328d? On my e90 335d I was able to use my Foxwell NT510 to do this but no such luck with the 328d.

Is there a procedure to prime it? When I swapped mine I just started the car afterwards. It cranked a little long and then started up

Same here, I swapped mine out without any steps ahead of time. Then pressed on the accelerator 10 times before starting it (car was in in On, but not running), then it cranked over a couple times before starting up without any issues.

Followed guide here:

^ Agreed and maybe a DIY on how to put the metal retaining clip back in, without having to bend or grinding it down. Perhaps a tool of sorts?

For the metal retaining clip I found that the slot in the fuel filter was bent from shipping. Put a screwdriver in the slot and bent it straight and the metal clip went in easily.
