F30 Leatherette?
After looking at the pictures and the brochure, it does not show leatherette as an option for the interior. I seen just a material+leather mix or all leather.
Does anyone know if they discontinued that option in North America? |

Remember that the initial specs that we've seen so far are the "International" (read: European) specs. Leatherette is really only offered in the US/Canadian markets where people don't want cloth in a luxury car. I'm certain that they'll have leatherette available (likely in place of the cloth options) in the US/Canadian markets when it launches.

As mentioned the specs are international. BMW has stated we won't be getting the cloth options here so that likely means leatherette. I can't say I care either way as I'll get leather.

The BMW 3-series is not a luxury car. It's a premium sedan.

While, in spirit of full leather, I agree with you, but still, you could've fooled me with those pics. It's so tough to tell what's real and what's fake. I'll save my 1.5K and get leatherette.

Look at the fine grain of the leather on the door armrests and center of seats (last pic), and compare with the grain of the leatherette on the door panels! It's like orange skin... I'm not sure whether you are saving, or if BMW is saving compared to Audi/Mercedes...

For what it's worth I have a 2011 Z4 35i with Walnut Kansas Leather and it looks and feels more like Leatherette than leather. I'm told it's leather treated for the elements but's feels like good old fashion synthetic-resin-plastic-Vinyl. I wouldn't be surprised if BMW carried the same-stuff over to the new models.
