Collected: Estoril Blue F30 340i Shadow Edition

Update on the nav issue (no OTA updates or USB updates on Connected Drive on the new car). For the last 3 weeks I've been getting twice weekly calls from my dealer saying that BMW Germany still haven't come back to them on the problem.

Last night I tried logging on to Connected Drive and got a message that it was down for maintenance - the optimist in me wondered whether they might be fixing something so I logged on this morning and lo and behold OTA updates and USB updates have now appeared as a booked service for me.

Hopefully the OTA updates will now kick in - I guess you can't force it but just have to wait for it to happen?

if you now call BMW customer services and ask to speak with technical services or something similar, they will do a remote service call on your car and force the update, they did this for mine to get 17-3 I'll wait till jan to see if 17-4 / 18-1 comes through OTA -

why does it have a USB port on the dash trim under the AC control panel?

You get that as part of the enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging option.

LCI or the LCI Shadow Lights version...

With regards to the map updates - I've got the same version as you, F31 Shadow and ours has free over the air updates, 4 times a year for 3 years. Still showing same version as you in your pic, but below that it says an update version GB IRE 2017-3 or something like that

Thanks - I can only assume that the wrong button has been pushed / box ticked in the set up somewhere. Anyway I'll be onto the dealer about it tomorrow but it's good to know that a fellow Shadower (??) has the OTA updates.

Nice car, is the usb just on 340?? I have an F31 335d shadow ed and mine hasn't got it, it's under the armrest.

Reason why I ask: I have a F30 Estoril Blue to, and my girlfriend is going to get me the LCI lights. But I can’t decide!

The original LCI tail lights are my first choice but the Shadowline give a different view of the car...

You can compare the LCI and the Shadow using grabs from the website. Personal taste of course but I would go for the Shadow version as long as you also have black grills at the front. The difference is quite subtle though.

I don’t have the black grills though. And not really thinking on changing them...

It's quite a long time ago now as this thread did get resurrected but in July 2017 I managed to order at just under a 24% discount to list price including the BMW FS contribution. I haven't looked recently how prices have been going as the new model approaches.

As far as I am aware there are no improvements to cabin noise with the Shadow Edition.
