brake, stabilisitation and tpm systems dash warning
Hello
I am new to this forum but it seems like a good place to ask for help on this topic. I drive a 2013 3 series f30, and it has a very annoying fault on the dashboard, indicating a problem with the braking system the stabilisation system and the tyre pressure monitor system, the fact so many components are affected suggests to me that it is an electrical issue, it is also intermittent as it only comes up when starting the engine and only sometimes, and I can ususally get rid of the fault by turning the engine off stepping out the car and locking it and restarting it. Is this likely to be a sensor or electrical fault or should I be genuinely concerned about it? Is there any fault finding methods you guys already know from experience I could try before having to pay more money out for something that might be an easy fix? Thanks again Alex. |

You need to get a diagnostics done on it to find out what’s actually wrong, rather than just taking guesses.
Or you could just clear the fault with e-sys or INPA and see if the fault message reappears. |

I’d start with manually checking your tyre pressures and if all ok then get the fault codes read, which could be something as simply as a failed wheel speed sensor.

Had exactly the same on mine. Was a wheel sensor. Used Ista/d to diagnose fault as it could be any of the four wheels
Mine started as intermittent but after a week or so became a hard fault. Sensor on front nearside is a 10 min job once the wheel is off. You need a t27 torx bit iirc |

The fault on my 320D turned out to be an internal short circuit within the nearside front wheel sensor. Total main dealer bill £207 of which from memory was split £75 for diagnostics, £57 fitting labour and £75 for a new sensor.

Thanks everyone for your replies I will have to buy a cable first to diagnose it, by the sounds of it its going to be a speed sensor but good tool to have I suppose.
Thanks again |
