Yes this is confirmed.
If you only connect MAP and TMAP, it will 100% as the BMS JB Stage 1.
Meaning you only have access to map 1

Exclamation JB4 Issues

All,
My first post here !!!
I am looking for some help please.
I installed a JB4 system in my 2013 BMW 428i which changed the car dramatically and loved it.... however 2 months ago i got an error "DRIVE TRAIN" which shut down the engines power. Thankfully i was near my mechnic shop who read the codes but didnt find anything. He cleared the codes and i went on my way. IT happened again on my way home.
We removed the JB4 and i never got the code again. 2 weeks later we put back the JB4 and the error codes came back.....

Has anyone had the same or have some suggestions on trouble shooting this ?

Much appreciate any feedback...

JB4 for the B58 has been out of beta for a couple years now. "Beta" is the testing phase.

No difference.. Same unit.

The beta refers to early testing but its never beta on hardware.. Its just testing firmware.. The hardware is always finalized before public release.

I own a 18 340i X-Drive with MPPSK.
Running 94CND... so about 91 I think for you?

Car is a lease, so I don't plan doing more than JB4 and BMS Intake.

I assume I can run only Map1?
Does the JB4 will give me a good upgrade over the MPPSK? Numbers I should expect?
I don't want to spend 1000$ CND to get only 10-20hp over the MPPSK...

Does the exhaust flap feature on the comfort/sport mode will stay fonctionnal the same way?

If I remove the JB4 and Intake every time I go to Services, Is there a way the dealer can see I runned JB4 and void my warranty?

JB4 is the only 50-state legal B58 tune I know of! Perfect for leases.

On 94 octane should be able to run up to map3 without issue, PPK is less powerful than map1.

94 in Canada is cheap. I think around 91 in US.

About how much more powerful than the MPPSK?

I dont have numbers but its a noticeable increase in torque and high RPM power

I have 340i with MPPSK in California where or gas options are limited to 91 octane without driving far to find race gas. Would there be any gains by using this? Or not worth it on 91oct with MPPSK?


So my question seems to be asked before but is there any solid data to back it up?

You can running a lower setting like map 1. Find a E85 station you don't necessarily need race gas.

The JB4 will provide gains over MPPSK even on 91 stock car

Stick to map 1. If you want to play with other maps, add in some e85 or octane boosters to raise your octane rating to at least 93.

Usually on 93 octane map3 is no problem, but you can always post JB4 logs if you want someone to check it out for you!

Map 2 and 3 should be fine with 93 octane. Every engine runs different so post a log or you can get better help on N54Tech.com
