Ummm, sorry to bust your bubble but that's far from true. I just heard an F83 M4 convertible last night with MPE and it was insane.
Your ability to read is amusing. I said "stock" m4. Hence your argument of a MPE is just... I don't know.
I knew it would've came down to this. Sometimes the sarcasm from some members on this board are indicative of the douchebag stereotype that BMW drivers face. Sorry if my initial reply seemed "jerk-ish".
Are you calling me & everyone on this board douchebags?

Is that the new ASD module underneath the car?

Not exactly, I can't call you a douche bag and legitimately give you a real apology in the same response. That'd be contradictory.

There are definitely some douche bag members on this board, the majority are great people and relatively speaking lots of BMW drivers are douche bags. Key word: relatively. I've been a BMW owner since I was 16 (32 now) with multiple cars. Trust me I've seen them.

Your response though valid, was "douche-ish". I'll say that. It could've been worded differently, but I'm no keyboard gangster, so lets just drop it and move on.

Doing some rough math, a decently loaded 340i is around 57k. Add the MPPK (3 to 3.5k with exhaust) and LSD (another 3k) and you're looking at 63k. I'm hoping those parts don't cost that much, otherwise I'd just shoot for an M3.

at even 58k, I'd probably just opt for an M3. Come on!

(or more likely buy the GT350 that sounds like hell's gates opening. Just YouTube it, unbelievable. My 10yr old son has me leaning towards the Ford. Never thought I'd say that)

Gt350 is a beast. I'd pick it over 340 every day of he week and twice on Sunday... Screaming v8 with magnaride or electric steering and fake engine noise via speaker? Choice is easy

Yea, the more reviews I see and sound clips I hear are making the choice more clear for me. Wish I could get the GT350 in flat black.

There's no doubt the GT350 is a good sounding, good running car. Not sure dealers are going to be willing to deal on them though as I'm betting they're going to want MSRP for a Shelby. The downside to that car is that because it is a Shelby that means it loves to drink gas. Specs are showing mileage ratings of 14 city 21 hwy, combined 16. That means that car gets on the hwy what my 335i does in the city.

Now right now, not such a big deal as the price of oil is being kept low because of the Saudis. But car ownership is usually at least a 3 year time period, most folks around 4-5 years. The Saudis can not and will not continue to keep their production at the high levels because they are burning through their cash reserves in order to do it, and it's believed they might have enough to last about another 4 years, then they go broke and won't even be able to support themselves. Which I'm sure we understand they will not let it reach that point and will have to start turning off the oil to bring the market price back up. They need it to be at least 80.00 a barrel. So one needs to consider how much that will contribute to the monthly fuel/ownership costs of the vehicle and essentially add that to the monthly payment of the GT350 vs a 340i. Not to mention the difference in insurance premiums.

Good looks, great stock performance with modifiabilty and decent gas mileage can be had with a C7 corvette.

Edit - One other thing to consider, either the Mustang or the Corvette come with a 3yr 36K limited warranty. The BMW gets you 4yr 50K and all you have to change is tires.

My dealer told me today that this kit is about $1,300 for the tune and exhaust, anyone else heard about pricing? That is an amazing deal if it's true!

EDIT: Seems to be untrue, looks like they were confused and that price was for the exhaust system only. As of now, my dealer is saying the power kit is not yet available.

Pretty good power for a 3 series tune from BMW.

You sound a bit like we all do in Europe since a few decades.

In Europe I would never consider any vehicle with a displacement above 3.0 liter even when they hand it over for free. Everything consuming more than a little bird is being taxed entirely out of reality (check the VW disaster!). The only future for us are 330e and 225xe alikes, and probably soon a 316e with half the power also.

It's true that we all fund the oil producing countries and converted their deserts into palaces of wealth. But I understood that the US has become to a large extend independent of the row for what energy concerns, not? When that's true, and there is enough supply, prices will probably not sky rocket.

Seems impossible, considering the kit also includes an exhaust system!?

So mpe are not even full exhausts? What is this that some ppl narrow down to exhausts w flaps or something? Meaning sound changes that go along with each driver mode? I believe mpe and akropovic exhausts only have these flaps?

I agree that it sounds too good to be true. Although I do remember a few years ago the MPPK was offered for $500 for a short period of time. Regardless, the numbers this kit is producing are awesome!! I can't wait to see what the 0-60/0-100 numbers look like!

That's why I'm asking if others are hearing the same, I figure since this is so new there's a lot of potential for confusion or misinformation.

Seems crazy for them to sell the kit for that little money, took me under a second to decide to go for it when my sales advisor told me the price.

True! It's a real steal for this kind of money. Not taking it would be ignorant (or dumb?).

BMW is also making the 340i MPPK a stronger proposition in the trio with the S4 and C450 again.

Here in Europe, the C450 is priced at arms length compared to the 340iX AT and without a low priced MPPK, I see many prospects converting towards the star.
