Alloy wheel colour match?
Hi all,
Long time lurker, first post now I actually own a BMW. Only had the F31 330D a month but loving it. Unfortunately I got caught out by one of those stupidly thin roads where they embed metal bells in the exits and scuffed my lovely 20" rim. They are replica M3 alloys I believe but the garage I bought the car from and put them on the car have been useless. They don't have a model number as the alloys are all made specifically for their business apparently and can't help me with a paint match. Can anyone help? Image here if embedding it hasn't worked - https://www.dropbox.com/s/z1wggy7hly...alloy.jpg?dl=0 cheers, Greg |

Assuming they are painted in a BMW paint colour, my guess would be Ferric Grey II. Dr Colour Chip offer a touch up if I’m right with the colour.

If the wheel colour doesn't relate to a specific manufacturers coded colour, and they often don't,then you need to go to an automotive paint supplier and they will match the colour and supply you with the paint.

Yes 763 reps but I've only been able to find black ones online previously.
Just found this page though and it references 'Orbit Grey' for the genuine M4 CS wheels so I guess I could try that as it looks close. ihttps://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1369226 |

As has been said, that colour looks darker than Ferric / Ferric II. Colour matching may be your best bet if you can't find the manufacturer of the rims.
As for the Blacklion Champoint tyres - never heard of them, but it seems that they're Chinese manufacture. Not sure I'd want them on my car, but what are your impressions ?

Thanks for that, I think these may be the exact wheels so will get in touch with them about the colour code.

Regarding the tyres, I was cautious about them as well but what little I've managed to find out about them seems ok in terms of reviews. I've gone from a front wheel drive car to 4 wheel drive so it's hard to determine how good they are as yet as the 330D just grips like hell compared to my previous car. I will definitely be swapping them for some decent rubber asap. Best start saving actually now I've seen the cost of 4 x Michelin Pilot Sports |
