335d checks to do before the warranty runs out?
Hey all,
So just as the title suggests, I'm thinking of keeping the 335d, and with warranty expiring next month are there any resources for common issues or things I should get checked before the warranty runs out? I saw the EGR VTC, but It looks like it doesn't apply to mine. I will get a service in the next couple of weeks, but I'm wondering if I should get an independent inspection too? TIA |

Have the dealer carry out an MOT and the end of warranty check, make them replace any corroded alloys and have them address any issues you have too.
Mine was recently 3 years old too, on reflection I should have taken the car to a specialist first and have them do a check as my dealer did nothing more than carry out an MOT and missed several things. |

Things I would look very closely at:
Alloy wheel corrosion as mentioned, even if extremely minor Fogging within any of the lights Any signs of wear to the seat bolsters - hippos aren't as thick-skinned as we expected Examine the 1 to 8 'hot keys' at night for any sign of cracking Check that rubber door seals (particularly driver's door) aren't beginning to split |

Ah thank you both there is corrosion on all the wheels face surface around where the bolt holes are, and dents in the center caps where they have been removed. I have only ever taken this car to a dealer so no chance of anyone else having removed the wheels.
I hadn't even considered this under warranty. Wouldn't they try to refurb rather than replace? Pictures here: View post on imgur.com Last edited by andyca; 12-20-2018 at 04:45 AM.. Reason: Switchng to Imgur as iCloud sucks |

I'd just get your BMW warranty extended, they should call you at the end of your warranty date to discuss. 335D's with twin scroll turbo's, ZF auto's, DPF'S, EGR's etc. etc. ain't exactly a cheap long term proposition. Outside of 5 years I'd still get a third party warranty for the cost from somewhere like motoreasy.!
