You're off to a good start, but there are even differing qualities of microfiber. Check the following sites to get some ideas of other products you want to add. Good luck!

You need a safe wheel cleaner - original wheels are painted, just like your car. The "Wheel cleaner" thread mentions some are quite happy with the Driver's Choice wheel and tire cleaner for $$ from Dollar Tree - I haven't tried it.
Advance Auto here sells a number of the Griot's products - their wheel cleaner is good. Meguiar's, Mothers & Eagle 1 make good wheel cleaners that are available at the box stores vs. having to purchase online. Don't know if you're referring to a "special" wheel wax vs. wax for your paintwork, but there are dozens of waxes, sealants (longer-lasting than wax) & ceramic coatings. You can use the same product on your paint & wheels.

My towels are from The Rag Company. You want more aggressive soap for the wheels but I'd watch out for anything too alkaline as it'll remove your LSP if you are using any but you technically could use the same soap on the paint and wheels if you wanted to. Iron X + pressure washer removes 80% of the dirt in my experience, so if it is in your regimen you could probably get away with using regular soap you'd take to the paint. I will be refinishing my 437Ms next week, as I got them used, and applying high temp ceramic coating to the wheels which helps substantially with brake dust and dirt removal I've heard but I don't have personal experience with that yet. |

2 bucket method is bs. You dirty both buckets of water and the grit stays in no matter if you have a grit guard or not (biggest scam in detailing). Use a foam cannon that pulls dirt and then a single bucket after hose down from the foam bath.

For an easy-to-use wax, I've been suuuper happy with Optimum Car Wax. I'm actually so happy about it, people have called me a shill. It's the only wax I've come across that I can apply at night after using a coin-op wash (no power needed, my garage is way too small to use a paste wax), offers UV protection (almost nothing else out there advertises this besides a few silica sealants), and is as glossy (if not glossier) than Blackfire Wet Diamond. It also lasts a really long time. Optimum recommends one coat, but I always do two coats.

-Foam Cannon (w/ chem guys Mr Pink) -Some type of iron/decontamination -Clay bars -Decent polish (I use Maguires Ultimate or Chem -Guys) -Decent Wax/Sealant (Maguires Ultimate) -Then last coat is Maguires Fast Finnish on -everything including wheels, rims, glass, and leather!! It's a hydrophobic polymer that is amazing....works better, is easier to apply and cost 1/5 of what any other competing company charges for similar products. The stuff is amazing. I have coral red interior on my 14 F30 335, this stuff on my seats has prevented color transfer from my darker jeans and dyed pants. It's fucking amazing. Don't get suckered into buying bullshit thousand dollar detailing anything, be smart |
