Dinantronics Sport review

assume most people will be doing a flash instead however i thought i'd give a quick review of the Dinantronics Sport compared to the BlueSpark.

I had the Bluespark but decided to get the Dinantronics Sport due to the smaller module size (easier to tuck away) and ease of switching modes via a phone. NB: you'll need a Android up to 7.0. Later versions disappointingly arent supported.

Impressions: i would say the difference is mild even in the highest setting but this is to be expected from just a boost controller and no other mods. it's not going to set your world on fire but it's still a nice to have. you'll only notice it if you get on the gas. the car otherwise driver very stock which can be good and bad. power delivery though however is very smooth still like stock. the Bluespark is honestly a bit of a beast (impressive) but very very jerky when you stomp on the gas. it however feels MUCH stronger than the Dinansport from the moment you touch the gas which would be a joy except from the crazy jerkiness.

overall im pleased with the dinansport boost controller as i dont plan to mod anything else except for a downpipe in future. having had a MHD and jb4 on my 435i, i dont think i'm confident re reliability enough to want to put them on my 340i. the dinansport is not very good value for money but depends what you're after and your expectations are.

+1 on your review of the Dinan unit. Also the CA SMOG cert helps too.

FWIW, I think pretty much ALL the sub $350-ish plug in boost controllers are generally an OK price at retail. I mean 20-30 hp for less than $500 isn't too bad.

But the best deal is the used market when these things drop down to about $100-$150.
I got my JB+ for $125 and DinanSportronic for $28 (ebay auction). That's probably your best value to dollar to power play.

Wow, $28 is definitely great bang for buck! Good work. Wish I could get bargains like that here in Australia.
