Yah. They have to drop the whole front suspension, brakes, etc to get at the shock tower. Apparently on x-drive it just swings down but not on a Rwd.

Anyone know reputable shop??

Look in the BMW car clubs magazine for BMW shops. There is one in my neck of the woods - ACE.

I just had it done a few weeks back on my 328i rwd

H+R Sports spring set, installation, and alignment for $830.

I also installed a set of Continental Xtreme Contact DWS06. No more run flats!

I now have a space of about two finger widths on the front wheels and about one finger width on the rear wheels. The ride is great now!

Unfortunately the shop that specialize in EU cars is located in Southern, NH

I took a quick photo with my iPad, but it does not show well, too dark, hope it helps.

Royals in Arlington! 300-400 boom!
Look for John. Tell them Jin sent you.
They are a small shop that does a lot of high end cars and work on lots of high profile clients.

There use to be a import tuner shop few years ago that did springs and suspension really cheap and quick. It cost me around 125 for spring and struts.... I don't think there around anymore. But they did have a nice ass blue Nissan Silvia.

Ask Royal. They probably can do the diff.

But if you gut quoted for springs, labor, alignment 800 doesn't seem that bad. If you got quote 800 for labor then that is bad...

Including the springs thats a good price and yes nothing but good things about HM, I may have them do my next alignment, I just had one done by Tulley and they did an ok job it it required 2 trips and they annoyed me.

Ultimate Bimmer Services is also a great indy shop in Nashua at Exit 7. They are more for general maintenance not a true tuner/speed shop but they do quality work.

In all my years driving Audis I never found an indy shop around here (southern NH) that could do a quality AWD alignment. Always went to the dealer, or FasTrack in Peabody when lowered. So I'm glad to hear HM can do it. Audi buddies have been happy with them and I've heard their BMW tech is excellent.

Also good to know UBS is legit. Very close to me, but for some reason I always assumed the place was sketchy.

They've only been there a couple three years so even if they were they couldnt earn a rep that fast lol. Maybe you applied the previous gas stations/garages reps to them?

I've noticed that as they have been there and have built up a solid customer base the tendency to quote the book rate vs actual has come down which makes total sense as they are a new company and cash flow is king. So for instance when they first opened I had them quote me on installing Dinan springs and it was way high. Went to Dave in Maynard instead. But had them do an oil change here and there, then had them install StopTech SS brake lines flush the brake fluid and do a pre-track day inspection on the car before last seasons track days. Price then was very reasonable. Month or so ago I had them install my Bilstein B8s for a very reasonable price as well.

I am the first to admit that it was a completely unfounded, judge a book by its cover type scenario. I think basically my brain said "shop near an on ramp on 101a = ghetto." Just because most of the shops along 101a around there are crappy chains or otherwise Busch league. I honestly hadn't thought about it much, and I'm glad I was wrong! Thanks for the info.
