probably a little off topic here but i have a question guys
m wondering if anyone can help, i have a bmw 1 series 2016 model with entry nav hu, i want to use apple car play and see if i can possibly get the id4 oor 5/6 and a bigger screen. im not how its possible or EVEN if its possible.
1. do i need to change the head unit or do i need to just get a new OEM, bigger screen for carplay. and is it simple plug and play
2. would a 2017 1 series HU(alpine) be compatible with my 2016 1 series.
3. how do i go about getting things coded, i also want to unlock digi speedometer and lock unlock sound enabled would coding with the bimmber code work for the new HU and to unlock features within the ECU ?
Any help would be great or if anyone can point me in the right direction.

ENTRYNAV Head Unit is incapable of CarPlay. Need ENTRYNAV2 with WLAN Port or EVO ID5/6 Head Unit.

All depends on exactly what head unit is in the 2017 1 Series, but if by Alpine you mean Asian, I would not touch it.

I have no comment on BimmerCode. Personally, I have zero use for any PhoneApp for Coding. I use E-Sys. PM sent.

Im from the uk and the people im talking to are selling parts and have no idea about models and stuff. is there a way to identify the region of the HU and model by looking at the stickers on it ? also is there compatibility issues with entrynav2 being put into a 1 series f20 april 2016 model ?
if i go for one of the newer versions instead of the entrynav2 would i have to change much of the other hardware ?
