You are positive you have Option 316 Power Trunk, and that it i snot just opening by spring? Does it have a button in the rear lid to close it from there?

Yep, a button on the trunk door and one under the dash. Next to the hood release

Just out of curiousity, why do you require a patch/token for some tasks and not for others? Is it the esys software that needs this token for some tasks or the car itself?

I have both I guess, it's one step beyond Automatich High Beams, the high beams do all kinds of nifty tricks beyond switching on/off automatically. But from your comments I think I will continue living without SLI, it's a small sacrifice

Just to make sure: Is the token for ESys 3.23.4 "only" required for coding(writing) or as well for reading? Can you run completely without if you just want to read?

what would be a better option from coding/tweaking perspective: a Business or Professional navi system? somewhere I've read that for some outputs you really have to have Pro display.

I am currently tossing between two F10 in the company's garage, with other options equal they are:

Blue: autodim rear view mirror; lumbar support; electrically adjustable driver/passenger seats with memory option; GPS navy system

Grey: sport steering wheel; GPS pro navy system;

the rest are standard for 520D, or equal options; so the Blue one is little bit fancier, though lacks the sport steering which I might miss, but the Pro system seems to be corner stone.

N.B. while looking at the above I think the Blue has more to offer from usability prospective.

your opinions are welcome.

You can read your SVT and VO Code modules without an .EST Token.

To read the actual .NCD data from an ECU, and to FDL Code it, you must have .EST Token.

The one with 609 Navigation Professional. You can add a Sport Wheel to it very simply, and for little cost.

Hi Shawn,

Blue is from early 2011 build and Grey is late 2010, so in case 609 was introduced after that(which I think is from 2012 at least), no one will have it in my case. The Grey one is with GPS Pro and sport steering wheel, while the Blue one is with Business GPS system and regular wheel. While the wheel is of no issue, I drove F10 with Business GPS and didn't like its somewhat small screen.

Like I said, get the one with 609 Navigation Professional, not 606 Navigation Business.

You are on a 24 hour PM hold. Either post and email, or wait until you can receive PM's.

Hey Shawn,

may be it's time to create a VM and distribute the image through torrents? they won't die as rapidshare etc and this approach is scalable.

So with sweaty hands I set out to change my bluetooth to 6NS and with all the documentation and help i've read here before it seemed very easy.

However, the results are not completely as expected: I have audio bluetooth streaming, 2 phones able to connect at the same time. And I also got a new 'Office' menu. But there is something missing in the Office section. I cannot set the phone up as 'office' provider, the only two options i can select are 'telephone' and 'audio'. So my mails and text messages do not show up.

Is there anything else i need to add/activate to get that working?

I'm using an iphone 5S btw.

There is no additional coding.

The phone must support Bluetooth Message Access Profile (MAP), which iPhone 4 and later support, so it should work, although I hear of problems with Apple's implementation of MAP. Make sure on the phone pairing that MAP is enabled under Bluetooth Profiles.
