I have a 2013 328i. Today I picked up a '15 oaner and realized the newer nav layout, very different from mine. Can I get mine updated to look like the newest (with POI icons, etc.?)

No. You have older CIC Head Unit. New cars have NBT Head Unit.

You can update your map though to add new Steets and POI's.

Hi Shawn,

I have a 2013 335i sedan with the 2013 North American Premium-1 maps. I have not updated my maps simply because I do not feel like spending the $300 to have BMW do it when updating the navigation does not involve that much. However, I have a couple questions, if I buy the maps online from BMW directly and update the maps myself, do I need a FCS code? Secondly, if I go through "alternative means," would updating the navigation violate my warranty?

Lastly, could you PM the instructions on how to update my maps to the 2015 North American Premium-1 or 2? Not sure which one to use.

You need FSC Code no matter what.

The "alternative means," is original BMW AG Map and matching FSC Code, so it is not a Warranty concern.
