Oil and fuel filter gasket, oil pan gasket(sump) , rocker cover and gasket and when replacing the stock diverter valve with a DV+, the air intake literally broke off in my hand. However, even after $7k spent on parts and sump gasket completed by BMW, the car runs like a dream and the DV+ is giving much better throttle response without the boy racer flutter that some hooks tend to like. I have had an E46 and waited until the F30 came out to replace a couple of cars in between, and I would have to say that the F30 still drives better than the new G20. |

Surely spark plugs and drive belt as well? If not, you are way overdue on the plugs at least. Also a good time to check on your control arms/bushings.

As far as throttle response, G20's comfort is tuned even more mpg than F30's comfort, so F30 feels more preppy than G20. In sport/sport+ the G20 and F30 are pretty close in throttle response. The biggest hidden treasure of G20 is really the price. The standard options of G20 easily could have added $5k-$6k on a base F30(at least pre-LCI to pre-LCI) And G20 is closer to E39 than E46. |

190k. Coolant System in Need of Attention
As my car was about to hit 190,000 miles on the odometer, a leak developed in one of the hoses and coolant began to drip very slowly. I could continue driving the car while refilling the coolant tank every other day … but of course, it was better to have my go-to indie mechanic check it out.
The lower radiator hose was indeed leaking (after running a pressure test). In replacing that, it would require dismantling much of the cooling system components in order to access that particular hose. He also noted that since none of the complementary parts within the cooling system had yet been changed/addressed (they were still the original parts … wow!), other hoses were starting to show evidence of rotting. Meanwhile, the water pump and the thermostat had survived well beyond their average lifespan. So, he recommended replacing everything. Not only would this be sound preventive maintenance, but it would save on overall labor costs/time because if I were to wait for another one of the coolant system components to fail (likely within the next year), he’d have to dismantle everything all over again and I would have to incur repeated labor costs. So, why not do it all at once? And, at 190,000 on the odometer, dare I say that I literally got more mileage out of the water pump and thermostat than many other owners? The attached pic shows the work that the mechanic had done. Total for Parts and Labor (5 hours of allocated time) came to about $1600 and change. So far though, I've been very happy / fortunate / lucky with how durable this car has been. May she keep going to 300k and beyond! |

Just hit 287,000 today on my 2014 F30. 300K will happen in 2022.

2013 328 just hit 90k miles. I've done all maintenance (fluid flushes, spark plugs, oil changes) and the only problem it's had is the turbo was making a little bit of noise at about 75k so it was replaced under my service contract. No other issues other than rear brakes being replaced.
I've driven it for the last 22k miles and I drive it like I stole it. I'm not easy on it but I also take care of it.

Just bought at 101k miles. I see some oil residue near the valve cover gasket so that may need a replacement soon, and I haven't gotten under the car yet but I'm assuming the oil pan gasket will need a replacement as well. Besides that the previous owner was an older guy so at least it hasn't been tuned and beaten, and regular maintenance intervals completed at his BMW dealership.
Praying for the best, have about 1k to spend to get her into comfortable shape. Will do charge pipe, gaskets, and maybe get someone I trust to do a diagnostic. |

My 2014 320D ticked over 95k miles the other day. I bought it at the end of 2018 on around 50k miles and thanks to lockdowns I've done a lot less miles than I normally would have done.
Mileage has ramped up a bit lately though but so far so good. In the 45k miles I've put on it I've not had to do anything other than normal servicing. Even the brake pads and discs are still on the same ones from when I got it because I do mostly motorway driving. Only thing that I do need to do is adjust the handbrake a bit but beyond that it's still great. I plan on driving it onto the ground - my previous E90 320D made it to 165k miles and even then I only ditched it because of the gearbox and suspected engine cam chain noise. |

Ended up developing a couple seemingly minor but nagging leaks at 289K so I am swapping out the turbo cooling lines as well as the valve cover and gasket.
In the process, it became clear the timing chain was stretched/worn to the point of zero tension and a fair amount of lash... so that is getting changed too despite the car continuing to run GREAT. Also blew out one of the Bilstein B8 Sport+ struts on the millionth pothole here in lovely NY state. But considering I got more than 100K miles out of them, I can't really complain. Once this round of work is completed, I'm all set to take her to 300K and beyond!!!

You also should have ordered the parts yourself off FCPeuro, every part is lifetime, so if it happens again, you only pay shipping.

I own a 2012 335i sportsline with 84k miles (133k kilos)
purchased the car at 33k miles, 2015 November as a CPO Issue list: oil-filter housing replaced twice under the warranty valve cover replaced under warranty driver side seat switch replaced under the warranty as seat moving itself numerous interior rattling belt tensioner replaced under warranty thermostat replaced twice under warranty and the third one stuck open again the driver side taillight connector and switch burned leak of wind-shield vacuums system (haven‘t took off the fender and check) Cracked charge-pipe and replaced the metal one noise on rear suspension and sounds like it came from anti roll bar failed ac compressor Fuel pump replaced for recall door handle on both side melted and replaced with aftermarket parts. Random limp mode that may need a ECU flash Above all are what I remembered since i own my f30, I am sure I forget some of the previous warranty works because whatever the problem I have, I just bring it to dealer. The car is completely stock and I didn't include any regular maintenance. Just post here as reference. Last edited by nismogtr; 07-21-2022 at 08:12 AM.. |
