ZSP - Special Order
Hi,
I was looking at the Canadian Order guide for the 440i Coupe (not x-drive). I see an option for ZSP "Special Order" that is $400. See attachment There's no description for this. The BMW.ca website does not have this option either when building one. What is it? |

In the US, ZSP is the code for the Sport Package. On my 320i it included, sport suspension with staggered 18 wheels, sport seats, sport steering wheel and anthracite headliner, but it was 1,300 not $400, so who knows what it includes for you.
Specifics aside, ZSP has long stood for the basic sport package from BMW. It has been my number 1 most important option on my BMWs.

Before I picked up my 440i xDrive GC recently every single option the dealer sent me (about 5) with various packages had ZSP 'package' as well. My research also simply showed 'special order'. I just thought it meant the car was custom ordered, not necessarily by a customer but even the dealer. Not sure if that's right or not.

The Merino leather is a "BMW individual" option and causes the ZSP $400 charge

Usually, you have to pay some large fee (something like $2,000-$5,000) to open up the availability of "BMW Individual" options on the car, with each such option then being an additional $400 a pop.
