255/35r19 square??
Anyone running square 255 in 19", if so what's your ET and susp setup?
I'm looking to upgrade my front 225/40 to 255/35 on ET30

I did run 255 square but ended up going 265 on the rear.
Front setup was 8.5J ET32 with 255 35 19 MPS4S Eibach pro springs, Bilstein B6 adaptive dampers. No rub but only a small drop.

I like the idea of rotating the tires, was also considering 245 upfront first but no ability to rotate and slightly smaller diameter is making 255 square more desirable

I'm on 255/35/19 Et 35 square but I'm also on a 9.5 wide wheel. With that said no issues for me also on m sport suspension if that helps. I would say depending on width of your wheels +35 would be the most I would push up front but 30 should be fine.

No outer shoulder wear on the tyres like I had on 225. Not quite as nimble in low speed corners is a small downside to running wider fronts.

You're right about the 225 wear on the outer of the tire and the 225 seem way to narrow for this car and you can feel it when turning. Waiting on my Michelin's pilot A/s 4s because winter is coming

Hey All! Am new to the F30 life.
Out of curiosity do you think a 265/35 would fit on the front with a 18 x 9 +30 wheel? I'm planning on ordering some wheels and just trying to nail down the specs. Trying to keep it all within the guards and obviously not hit any of the suspension components. Or would you run a different offset. I'm guessing I would need to run some camber? This will be a track car so i have no issues running about 3 degrees if I can find a way to get that much adjustment. Its for a 335i RWD Last edited by Tobz_au; 10-19-2021 at 12:53 AM.. |

here is 255/35/19 on a 9.5" ET35...https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8&postcount=16
a 265 inside shoulder or sidewall will rub the spring perch or strut at ET35. based on the thread below, you need to be ET32 or slightly lower for 265/35/18 to avoid interference. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1616369 this former member had 275/35/18 on 18x10 ET35(with 10mm spacer)=ET25 at -2 camber on his F32...https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1340277 265 is slight bulge on 9". i think 255/40/18 is better on an 18x9 et30 up front. Although 19s would looks great too more tire here in chicago is essential, and I really don't want to deal with bent wheels any more. 18s are cheaper too

I actually kept my stock 400M 8.0"x 18" ET34 wheels and upgraded from 225/45-18 runflats to 245/40-18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. The tires themselves add a lot of resilience against pothole damage too. |

And yes 265 is a slight bulge but I have some NT01's I want to use up (was on my R34 Skyline). Will move over to 245 or 255 once they are worn out Last edited by Tobz_au; 10-19-2021 at 07:52 AM.. |

I ended up ordering a set of 18x9 ET30 arc8s and going to run 255/40 square.
Wanted to stay on 19s but after much thought the pros of going to 18s outweighed the 19s. Tire rotation, cost, more sidewall just makes more sense for me since roads are bad in chicago.

I'm planning on using Style 613 wheels in 9JX18 ET:44 with wheel studs and a 10-15mm spacer on the front. How do I verify that the wheels will clear my 370mm brakes before I buy them? Last edited by SD Convert; 06-05-2022 at 12:12 PM.. Reason: Fix typo |

I know some folks run 447s which have et <30 but then suspension comes in play to reduce poke, camber/ lowered etc.. You might have to Google or search this forums with keyword "#stylewheel" to find out about the clearance as I'm not familiar with that style wheel.

Does this work with a set of stock OEM BMW wheels? I've got two sets of 403M's, one pair for summer and one for winter. I could quite happily drop to a square setup for winter using the two front 8" pairs to use 225 all round and then 255 all round using the two pairs of rear 8.5" rims. Am I being daft?

9" wide with ET30 (ET44 with a 14mm spacer) slightly pokes, like it shows on the photos. For a true flush fit you should use a 10mm spacer. But at the end, you know what you like best aesthetically.
