Is there something like Bimmercode for VW?

Getting a new firms van soon, VW Caddy, and I know there's things gonna do my swede in - seat belt warning while I'm still in my drive, stop start always on etc.....
I've searched Google and come up with a few tools that read faults and do some coding but all cost serious money up front and then a subscription. Stuff like OBDeleven which needs a special obd dongle that costs over £100.

What I'm after is the VW version of Bimmercode. Something around £30 that just allows me to turn on and off options. Couldn't care less about faults, not my van
Anyone know something that fits the bill? Cheers

There is a chap on my estate who is always playing with VAG cars, so you could maybe just pay a few quid to someone to sort it straight away, OBD11 seems to be the one I hear about.... not had him play with mine yet though....

OBDEleven is OK.
I paid £72 including faster postage and 100 "credits"
The newer version is a bit dearer but I don't need Apple functions.

Dead easy to use for the common upgrades.
You can use it for advanced stuff without credits and it seems relatively straightforward.
If your van is a new one OBDEleven won't work as they haven't cracked the ECU code yet!

I’ve always coded using vcds. Can use either genuine or clone cable.

You can do obdeleven a lot cheaper than above.
I Bought the (old style) adaptor for £15 on vwroc, just sold it last week for £15 actually.
Credits for coding - you get one free each day you log onto the app and up to 4 credits per day for watching ads.
The average change costs 10 credits.

Quite a few people use Carista as has already been posted for simple coding. Check on their website that your vehicle is supported

I have both OBD11 Pro and VCDS.

OBD11 is cheaper and easier to use - but the iphone app was limited. credits are only needed to auto code.. if you want to go into the long coding its doesnt cost... i have loads of free credits and no use for them!

VCDS used to be better - as you could resell it and make your money back - but now they have put limited vins on it (unless you pay much more for unlimited) and stopped that... to be point where i bought a clone one on Aliexpress for my tinkering.

There is also VCP - which is more more pro - and allows hardware specific changes too - so much more powerful than both VCDS and OBD11.

i used OBD11 on my Golf. Using the Long Coding method (not that difficult) saves money with credits and you dont need to buy any.

Loads of support on the net on how to code stuff with OBD11 using Long Coding.

BTW if you are getting a brand new van, you may want to read this. If it has SFD protection you may be stuffed until they crack it.

I wont be able to code my new Golf when I get it - yet

I used both, Carista is simple and reasonably priced, OBDEleven is more expensive but IMHO offers better functionality. I didnt extend my Carista subscription when it ended.

Or just put your seatbelt on before you start the engine and let start stop do its bit to save the world

I dont think I have ever turned start stop off, occasionally engage sport to achieve same effect.... and electronic handbrakes hate you trying to drive off with seatbelt not fastened but guess as I grew up having to wear one its the first thing I do when I get in....

(this is of course none of my business so feel free to do whatever you want!)
