A93 to Braemar is a great drive, the stretch from Spittal of Glenshee to Braemar in particular is epic

As above head up through glenshee to braemar and along towards Ballater and then loop back.

Or head west towards Crieff and Loch Earn. From there you can head south towards Callander, or North towards Crianlarich and Glen Coe.

Or a shorter route through the Sma' Glen and Amulree, by turning north before Crieff and aiming for Dunkeld.

Just avoid the A9, and watch out for camera vans on the A roads. B roads are much safer.

Leaving aside driving fun, the A82 from Tyndrum to Clencoe goes through some of the most stunning scenery in the UK!!

That was the route I meant above. It's a truly superb few hours drive. Or you can take the old military road up past cockbridge, tomintoul and on to Grantown on Spey. That road is superb too, but you either need to double back or use the A9 in all it's average speed camera glory to get back to Perth.
