just wondering what my tyre strategy is going to be this year and would like some help?
here's the current status (figures in mm):



1. are the fronts cambered negatively or should i not have the inner part wearing? have i got an alignment issue or is it meant to be like that?

2. when would you change the tyres normally, when the tread depth gets to 2mm/that minimum bump in the tread?

3. could i rotate the fronts to the rears? - IGNORE THIS.....i can't rotate them coz my car runs a staggered setup!

4. does anyone know what the OEM tyre is that bmw fit for the 440i f32? coz the next gen Asymmetric 3's are not run flat.
The asymmetric 2's which are run flat's on black circles are insanely expensive, £180 each....

5. what happens if you get a puncture with non RF's? i've never used a puncture tyre repair kit before, are they effective enough to limp home?

i can't imagine trying to find a hole in a tyre at night on the side of a motorway....do you guys just call out roadside assistance in this situation and get them to fix it?

6. what if i fit the non OEM tyre Asymmetric 3's or PS4's which are non RF....could this cause issues with any warranty claim in future?

7. where would i get the appropriate puncture repair kit from if i stick non RF's on?

1. I think that’s normal. My brand new MPS4S’s have 1mm less on the inner most groove.

2. I’d do 3mm personally just to be sure I don’t loose traction (although unlikely with the mps4s).

4. It’s a range of run flats that include the gy eagle f1s, Pirelli p zero, Bridgestone portenza s001s etc. No non run flats I believe. Could be wrong.

5. Still have yet to have my first puncture. Have the conti mobility kit and dyna plug. From anecdotes online it seems like 50/50 chance of working.

6. I believe if the tyres are non star marked and deemed to be the cause of a warranty claim, then it won’t be valid. But could be wrong.

All 4 tyres indicate under inflation. The shoulders are taking most of the load.

And the inner fronts always wear most on all the BMW’s I’ve owned.

To answer your question 4.... my sept 17 build f32 came with RFT assemetric 3’s.... just got a quote of £270 each from the dealer to replace both fronts due to bulges... so in your posotion i’d ditch the runflats.

That's insane, Camskill is nowhere near that cost. The 19" fronts are £386 delivered for the pair, fitting isn't £77 a tyre.

do you think you'd try and repair it if the worst happened or just call breakdown?

i cannot imagine myself sitting by the roadside at night desperately trying to find a hole to repair.

the occurrence of a puncture is so rare, highly unlikely i'd be calling out roadside every year.

that's that, i'm going to ditch the runflats and switch to MPS4's.
