M-sport Limited Slip Differential

Any reviews from 340xi drivers who have taken the plunge on the LSD?

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...l/33107555607/

If so, how much was labor to install?

Any cheap sources for this part?

Limited slip only fits on the rwd version not the all wheel x-drive
I own the oem m-slip one and love it.

The link shows it fits on x-drive. I will have to check with dealer.

Could you tell me how much it cost you for part and install?

If it works on x drive is it on just the rear axle or both axles? Does the center diff lock on the stock car?

Good questions. Maybe someone in the know will chime in?

Both s and x drive share same rear diff. So yes you can fit LSD to xDrive too. Question is.....does it make enough of a difference?

Edit: looks like xDrive shares the rear diff with lower models in the range, so not the sDrive B58 models.

First off the link to ecstuning says this LSD unit is not compatible with the xDrive in my 340. I don't know if the S and X drives share differentials but I know they use different axles. The reason I know this is when I got my 340 there was some confusion as to the compatibility of the M Performance LSD with xDrive, long story short after being assured by someone at BMWNA it would work my dealer ordered and tried to install it for me. It was only after my car was taken apart that they realized no way it would work.

On shopbmwusa.com, it says there are no LSD that is compatible with 340ix drive. You have to select S drive manual or auto to pull up a result under differentials so it would appear to be a no.

According to shopbmwusa the part is not compatible with x drive maybe because you can't do the front diff and locking just the rear diff doesn't make sense as the x drive is not programmed to work with it and could adversely affect handling.
