It would have caused an issue if the flag remained and the vehicle came in needing a motor. The claim may not have been denied based solely of the flag but they would have a tech investigate further into if mods caused the failure.

The dealer must prove a given mod has caused the failure. They can't simply void the warranty. But Bmw Na can surely deny payment for what ever reason.

Also if a given dealers warranty index is high that month they will avoid warranting big ticket items. As that may put the dealer in the red and if that happens too many times they will be audited by bmw and that's no bueno!!!

15 minutes it literally took me 45 seconds to take my entire jb4 out of my b58. like from start to stop.

honestly its not hard at all im kind of on the fence about taking my car in for service next week but the jb4 be coming out before i go so lets see.

This is just plain silly. That label is to satisfy CARB, the California Air Resources Board. Unless an intake or exhaust component is CARB approved, it can't be sold in California for installation on street vehicles.

Every motorcycle I've owned in the past twenty years had an aftermarket exhaust and fuel management system with those disclaimers.

That is that point, the JB4 will complicate a warranty claim. BMS isn't going to swoop in and pay for any powertrain failures caused by their product. It's for 'racecars'.

Bmw tech here, when a car comes in for regular service and we see the jb4, whether it be the harness or actual box we kind of just look the other way. Now if a car comes in with an engine malfunction and it's related to aftermarket mods then there's a problem. We had an f10 m5 in not too long ago with multiple malfunctions and BMW called us as we were diagnosing it asking if the dme had been tampered with. Now at this point we called the customer and confirmed it had been flashed. Cut to the chase. Customer was picking his car up within 30 min and never brought it back

BMW doesn't care until you blow your motor.

Going in for an oil change soon. I'm from Long Island and looking for a dealer that's lenient. Did you go to Rallye? Thanks.
