Where did you locate your RaceChip?

Just installed a RaceChip GTS black but I'm not fully convinced about the location, just getting ideas to relocate.
Here is where I have it in the meantime.

For Active Autowerke, they place them on the passenger side, under that pull up cover right by the windshield (front left strut tower is right there). It's nice and concealed, and out of the way. If your cables are long enough, that would be my suggestion. You just 1/4 turn those 3 - 10mm plastic bolts to release the cover.

Seeing as it's on your diesel, how do you like it? I'm not really a fan of universal preloaded tunes but what do you think?

That's a good idea! I'll check if the wiring harness allows it.

It's been raining non-stop here since yesterday so I haven't had a chance to really test it. But first impression was a more responsive throttle and a very noticeable mid-range punch. That was in S mode, I didn't want to try R (race) mode yet until it dries up.

FWIW, these are not universal, the software in them is specific to your car, you can also fine-tune it and update it online online via the RaceChip app. Very clever units.

I didn't mean universal as in works on any car, universal as in it's not a dyno tune and can work on any n47 engine.

After a few days trying the 3 main settings, I can definitely say wow. There is a very noticeable improvement on power and torque mostly mid range. Race mode is impressive more so if you combine it wit the car's sport setting.
And having control over the app makes it even easier to change settings and even go back to stock settings.
Very happy. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to improve performance with a plug and play DIY piggy back unit.
