My thread should cover most of the concerns here.

My experience with Stage 1 has been pretty good. With the +3.0 boost setting it was a good bump over stock but then i bumped it up to +4.2 and that was even better. After that i got a great deal from mike@n54tuning for the catless downpipe which I am currently running with the stage 1. Honestly, I dont even feel the need for going for jb4 since my car ran faster than my friends car who had jb4+intake+dp+exhaust.

I killed him when he was running 94 octane on map 5, and then he had to switch it to map 2 just so it ran more consistently. In that run both our cars were dead even until 5th gear where my car pulled ahead of his

At this point i decided to run 94 octane and bumped the setting to +5.5 psi... My god i was blown away how hard my car pulled .. And just for comparison sake i was really curious about my 1/4 mile time and I ran 12.7 @ 108 consistently among 2 runs and another 2 runs at 12.8 @ 107.

Overall i'm really satisfied with the performance and the only thing thats bothering me is the CEL.. Thinking of switching to a catted dp so i can get rid of that too

I did have the stage 1 with the boost set at 4.5 and the car ran great but now with the jb4 map 2 and a ER downpipe its pulling like mad. Having the OBDii connection now it was a easy decision to upgrade to the JB4. It has waste gate control and safety features plus dash control and cel delete. From what I've heard about catted downpipe is that it will eventually cause a cel.

I don't care what anyone says. The N55 WOT sounds fantastic.

Or, get the JB4.

So, no helmet necessary at that drag strip? Kinda odd IMHO.

I could get the jb4 but its a big hassle to take it off for someone like me who only runs 91 octane... and with catted dp no smell and no CEL (theres a workaround as well for the catted dp's which still trigger the CEL like putting a spacer in the O2 sensor)

I wasn't wearing the helmet because it was my first run and didn't know that I had to wear it. Rented a helmet for the next 3 runs after this though

The JB4 isn't really that difficult of an install Maybe 10min more then stage1.

Any issues from bumping the boost up to 4.2 or 5.5 psi??

I got a CEL once on a cruise when it was at +5. But then again i was constantly hammering the throttle and it was pretty hot that day. Went away after i let my car cool down.

After about a month or so I got oil level at minimum... Topped it up and reduced it to 4.5 psi, Haven't encountered any issues other than that

I have been running at +5.0psi for about a month now and I have had no problems. Thinking about dropping back down because the only mod I have is an afe intake and stage 1. Don't want to risk that charge pipe blowing up on me.

One might say even better than it's more powerful brother the M3, who sounds like a lawnmower.

Charge pipes go on even stock cars so I would put the charge pipe on the list of things to get at some point.
