Had the second dyno this afternoon (same AWD Mustang dyno at COBB) to see how much the MPPK added to the car.

Here's a look at the chart. One thing I noted, although the HP might be a hair low (an increase of 16HP at the wheels) the power isn't really falling off like with the car stock at high rpms. Also the TQ made a nice jump. (24TQ at the wheels). Seems to perform close to the advertised amounts.

I had a chance yesterday morning while I was out early taking pics of the car to do a couple of other 0-60 runs since adding the MPPK and exhaust. I can't call the conditions ideal because outside temps were down below 50 deg and the performance RF tires just don't hook up as well as you'll probably hear/see in the video when it launches. Still it was right around where it should be with RWD at 4.8 secs even with that.

I hate to say it but this thread will probably go cold now as any consideration of adding Dinan power or suspension mods to the car is on hold and potentially out the door as I watch other events unfold. I'll probably go ahead and add some other aesthetic things in the mean time and may just have to live with the stock MSport /MPPK, which honestly doesn't suck.

Gratuitous picture from yesterday morning.

Butt dyno can feel some difference in the pull, the car does feel peppier. BMW should probably sell the MSport this way.

Love your car and thanks for posting the dyno results. Quick question as I'm right at 1200 miles and about to commit to an exhaust and a tune: what was your main reason for opting for the ATAK over the MPE and how is the drone?

I went with the Borla vs the MPE (and others) because it's a full cat-back exhaust, weighs less, and costs less but it gives a good exhaust note on the car, a better one than the MPE in my opinion. (but everyone's taste is different) I had to decide if I wanted to go with the S-Type or the ATAK from Borla, and went with the more aggressive sound in the ATAK. No drone on the system driving around or cruising on the hwy.

The downside is you'll put extra miles on the car driving it around just to hear how it sounds.

Sounds awesome!

Thanks for the review on the Borla and videos!
Finally someone thinking and trying things outside the box.

What made you change from cat-back to just axle-back ? isn't the MPE cost more and its just axle-back right?

Cheers

I went from the stock exhaust to the Borla (cat-back). I ran Borlas on some of my previous vehicles and liked their sound and the free flow their designs offer. When I heard the ones they built for the BMW I chose their system again. Cat-back vs axle-back, lighter weight, and the bonus of them being cheaper.

Side note, I've added the M Performance diffuser and the C.F. side mirror caps now. Really pleased with the look on the car.

Nice! It even sounds better than MPE does.

Specific place where you ordered it from?
Good to hear on your loyalty with Borla and still not letting you down.
I've heard some Borla on every mustang recently and OMG! Its love at first sight!

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-18...-f32-435i.aspx

For US customers.

Costs just about the same as MPE brand new (as you have to buy the tips seperately), and sounds 100x better and actually gives some power gains (very minimal)

You also shave off about 30lbs going to Borla from stock.

I got mine off of http://www.tdotperformance.ca/ as it's canadian priced and I don't pay import.

As shocking as this may sound when I inquired at the dealership if they would install it, they told me their race team is an authorized Borla dealer. So they ordered and installed it for me. So far all my mods have been installed through the dealership. The mirror caps were ordered from RW, the diffuser is an M Performance part.

Edit - correction, the tint was installed by one of the businesses owned by someone in our car club and the Bluesmobile /CHI cop car were me.

Definitely like the change in the rear look of the car with the added diffuser and the exhaust.

For appearances my decision has been to stick with the black sport grilles and the black rear diffuser. I've added the CF mirrors and the CF Performance spoiler will go on the car Monday. Last I will add the CF Performance splitter and that will be all the changes I'll do for aerodynamics and outside looks. I considered adding the ///M "type" spoiler and mirror caps, but in the end decided to keep the car's look M Sport / M Performance parts because it's not an ///M.

Speaking of ///Ms last Saturday we participated in a Toy Run / drive. Here's some video of that.

I like the quad tip look, but ///Ms are quad tipped, so none for this car.

minor update - Carbon Fiber spoiler is on, and splitter is on order.

AFE drop-in filter is finally on its way as well. Thanks to Mike at Extreme Power House for tracking that puppy down.

Yeah it sucks the pics on the site are mainly on a white car. I'll send them some on mine and see if they'll add them
