can I go square with different rim widths?

19 by 8.5 in front
19 by 9 in rear

Have 245/35/19 Vs 275/30/19 Setup with PSS4s(which suck btw!!!)
I want to go squared - mostly because I want to be able to rotate and get more miles out of my tires. I drive aggressive and a lot.

Thinking of going 255/35/19 all around. My only concern is, even though the tire sizes are the same, will this 1/2" difference in width cause any problems if I switch/rotate?

FYI - no issues with clearance based on tire size.
Got the M brakes,
Car is lowered with KW V3 Coilovers
Forgestar Performance CF5V Wheels

are you planning to dismount the tires and move them from the 9 to the 8.5 or you mean rotate the rims around the car with putting the 9s up front? you may run into clearance issues depending on offset and it may look strange with a 9 up front and 8.5 out back (if it clears)

the 8.5" rim will have a slightly taller tire compared to the 9" as the tire for the 9" will be slightly stretched to fit thus making it shorter.

Yes - I want to be able to rotate them, hence the reason of going squared.

Yes - there is enough clearance. However, I had not thought about the 8.5" fitted tire being slightly taller than 9" tire because of stretch/non-stretch. I wonder how much of a difference is that going to make, both aesthetically and mechanically.

Not a good idea. Going to look stupid and may run into fitment issues. Buy a pair of matched rims of the same width if you really want to rotate. That said, the amount of extra miles you will get are unlikely to offset the cost and hassle.

I'd just buy less expensive tires if in your shoes. Sumitomo HTR Z III are cheap and pretty decent(not sure available in your size)

Hey Kyle - I had two sets, none lasted me more than 15k. The Walls were the worst - they'd just crack for no reason and yes I had the correct sizes and pressure and bla bla... Also found them to be super annoying in wet conditions once you crossed over the 10k range. BUT when dry and new, man they were sticky in any conditions... minus snow - I never tested them in snow.

I was in Fortworth for 4 years. Now I've moved to CT a couple of months a go and with the cold weather/snow looking for a more balanced tire.

True dat but I feel like it's kinda late in the game to take care of them - being my daily and the only vehicle that has been to over 10+ states with me, the forgestars have been hit and scratched pretty hard.

Ok side story - I got the Continentals DWS on yesterday cauz I was getting a good deal. I lost a lug nut in the process. No idea where it went!!! driving with 4 on the rear till the amazon dude arrives!!!

Sorry to hear that they didn't go well for you. Weird to hear about the sidewalls cracking.. I wonder why they did that. Are you a more spirited driver? I bought used (like new) MPS4S with around 8/32 or better tread and drive like 75% calm and 25% spirited. I've heard mainly good things about them so hopefully I'll have a good/better experience with them!

Yeah, dont take me as the final word on the PS4s. Everyone thinks ks they are great. I think it was specific to my set up. My suspension, staggered setup, my driving style n I'm sure the inner city roads I mostly drove on. Best of luck man n let me know how they do for you.
