CHANTARS BMW F30 330i
The time has come!
Finally pulled the trigger on a F30. Wasn't a 335i like I hoped of getting, but I settled for a newer 2017 BMW 330i in Mineral Grey with 13,000 miles. Picture of my previous car (2013 MK6 GTI) that I traded in: Pictures of the new daily, I'll snap some interior shots later on, but nothing crazy, sport seats and steering wheel. Need to change out the halogens out asap too haha. I decided on the F30 330i over the 335i, due to my budget and as well as I wanted to have a car I didn't have the urge to modify, but let's see how long that lasts LOL. Wanted to spend this year really focusing more time on my E30 325i. |

Thanks guys for the warm welcome!
Got some new forged carbon fiber bits at work for the F30 today, perfect timing since we needed a F30 to test fit stuff on and I just got mine haha. Hmm, not sure how I feel about the look since I'm stock but definitely something new and unique. I think it would be a cool look if your F30 was already modded out and had some other CF parts on it. Thoughts?! |

Update:
The car came with the poopy 6.5" screen which in my opinion, ruins the whole interior of the car. Went ahead and got the 8.8" screen installed and coded, and wow it's like night and day. Totally transforms the interior of the car! If you're in California in the LA/OC area, hit up carlezzy_coding on Instagram for all your BMW coding needs! Super nice and friendly guy. |

The car actually came with iDrive 4 even though it was a 2017 model, not sure if it was because it was a early 2017 model. I know some people got iDrive 5 already for the 2017's and iDrive 6 on the 2018 models if I'm not mistaken.

M Sport Steering Wheel
Recently changed out the stock sport steering wheel, to the M-Sport steering wheel. Unfortunately the M-Sport steering wheel didn't come with paddles, and for some reason I thought the paddles on the sport steering wheel could transfer over but I was definitely wrong. For now I'm gonna run the steering wheel as is, and hopefully add some paddles later down the road. Using the lever for now isn't too bad.
The process was pretty easy, however popping the air bag off the base steering wheel was the "hardest part." You have to go through the two access holes on the steering wheel with a pick tool or flat head screw driver and to release the spring/tab, while pulling the airbag outwards. Don't mind my feet lol. Install Process in a nutshell: Use 10mm to disconnect battery. Use thing flat head or pick tool to release spring/tab from the two access holes on the steering wheel. Use 16mm to break loose center bolt. Disconnect plugs. Put new wheel on! Reverse everything. Completing the steering wheel is pretty much the last bit for me in the interior side of things, for now. There's a few major bits here and there that I want to do but that'll come later on. As a daily driver, the steering wheel has made a HUGE difference. |

Never thought I'd have to make this post but...
F30 was involved in an accident and the story is even crazier. TLDR: Car got into an accident, dude tried to book it, chased him, then he booked it on foot, cops came, dude now is going to have a misdemeanor. If you live in Southern California please be on the look out for this loser. Going on the 57 S towards Anaheim, I was in my lane. On the right to me there's a semi-truck and on the left to me is an FJ Cruiser. This FJ Cruiser has been driving like a major dickhead, hence why I wasn't behind him in the fast lane. Suddenly this guy swerves into me making contact with the entire driver side of the car and then takes off. This was my first major accident so I was in shock, but my first reaction was to call 911. I figure he would pull over, but the FJ Cruiser begins to try to out run me but I eventually catch up to him and force him to take the next exit. By this time, I already have 911 on the line and gave them his license plate number just in case he tries to pull a fast one on me. We pull into an alley way near a liquor store and I park right behind him. He gets out of the car and then BOOKS it on foot. Mind you I'm still on the line with the 911.. I'm already out of my car trying to chase the guy, but the dispatcher urges me not to pursue him just in case he may be crazy or has a weapon of some sort. CHP and five other police cars show up and are searching for him around the area while some of them are taking my statement. Eventually they are unable to find him, probably because he was hiding out somewhere. The Officer reassures me that he'll do his very best to catch this guy. There were a lot of video cameras recording from the business around the area, so we're hoping one of them caught him running so we can clearly identify him. The last resort the officer said, is that the officer is going to show up at the address that they were able to pull from the plate. Damaged done to the F30: Looks like driver side wheel, fender, mirror, both doors and side skirts. |

Update -
The cops were able to find the guy in the FJ Cruiser and I was able to identify him during a photo line up. The CHP officer told me that the DA will probably prosecute him for the hit and run. I'm just glad they were able to find him to get him off the road and so I could get my deductible from his insurance. Fast forward a coupe months, made some changes to the F30: M-Sport Front Bumper M-Sport Rear Bumper M-Sport Side Skirts M-Performance Front Lip M-Performance Side Skirt Extensions M Performance Trunk Spoiler M3/M4 Style Mirrr Caps Dual Slat Gloss Black Grills DEPO Pre-LCI Headlights 437M Wheels w/ Pirelli P Zeros Still going for that OEM + look! Next mods are probably to lower it on H&R Super Sport or Sport Springs. Was able to get some iPhone shots when I was at a parking garage! Overall I'm pretty happy with the way the car looks and excited to just have her back in general. I'm definitely more cautious now driving haha. |
