I always drive in Sport+ because I enjoy it so much (BMS Stage 1 also helps). I drive conservatively but really enjoy the added responsiveness and power always being available when I need it. I understand this will result in additional wear and tear but thoroughly enjoying my car makes it worth it to me. Plus I still get about 30mpg on average.

I just purchased my car on saturday, but have used it solely for commuting to work and appointments, im in eco pro 100% of that time. I did test out the other modes during the test drive.

I rarely used sport mode until the dealer finally sorted out the valves on the MSPPK exhaust, using the TSB that i found on the forum. Before, there wasn't much difference between sport and comfort.
Now I only use comfort or eco pro when I don't want to wake the neighbors or I'm on the freeway and want to reduce the drone. |

When I will be using valet parking, I use Bimmercode to set Eco Pro as the default mode. It only takes a few moments to change it back when my car is safely back in my possession.

Comfort mode if I'm driving my wife or mother or a group somewhere. Otherwise, if I am alone, then it's Sport mode all day long! Why even buy a car a car like this, and do all these performance mods, if you aren't going to turn it loose? When it's time to pass, there is no fumbling to push a mode button, it's Step On It!
To be clear, I don't beat on the car and I don't say damn the wear and tear. This is not a lease. I respect the car, warm it up, cool it down, take care of it and do all of the maintenance much more often than recommended to be able to really enjoy it properly. This car is a member of the family. It's the most enjoyable car that I've ever had the privilege and pleasure to drive every day. Occasionally my wife expresses what sounds like jealousy to me. She has even threatened to sell the car. No worries! She grabs her keys and always returns with that "Joliet Jake" smile that says "We're keeping the car, fix the cigarette lighter!" |

I am sure if i had the 335i that i would be enjoying the sport mode more often, the 328 doesnt have the same punch. |

I've had mine for about a month now, and even though comfort is good most of the time... I feel long-term it needs to have a little more pep in that mode. MPPK and MPE are defnitely in the plans. I came from a '09 335i with COBB Stage1 N54. My other car now a 6MT NA 550i with tremendous throttle response. Sports is fun, but overall the car could use a little more "caffeine"!
It has CPO warranty until 2023, so I plan to drive very enthusiastically for sure |

I am in comfort until it's up to operating temperature. From there, I'm always in sport unless using cruise control on the highway, then I'm in eco pro. I'm still under manufacturer warranty anyways

I go comfort on the highway cruising since 7th gear is all you get in sport. (At least my experience) Sport + with traction control disabled for messing in the snow puts the throttle back to comfort like travel which I assume is done for better control but makes Sport the go to for every day. I like the short throw throttle feel. May change when warranty is up and I add power but we'll see. -PJ |

Most of the time I'm in comfort mode, unless I need to overtake then it's sport mode.
One thing I think would be useful is, if it automatically switches to sport mode if the accelerator pedal is pushed all the way down. |

Comfort till she's warm, then sport+ with SAT engaged period, till cool down time. If I wanted to drive in comfort mode with concerns on gas mileage, I'd just drive my jetta. Is a 328 fast at high speeds like a 335? No. Does it get in and out of corners like a cheetah after it's prey? Yep. I didn't buy a bimmer to be bored. Wear and tear? I'm aware, and willing to pay for my driving pleasure.

Eco Pro and the gamification (earning stars) is good if you want to change your driving way. If you want to be more ECO. It reminds me of my Honda hybrid car.
I also agree that comfort is pretty ok. |

There are modes other than Sport?
My routine is: back out of the garage, press button for garage door, press button for Sport, Drive! |

And why do you 'need' to blow a ricer off the line? It won't make your balls any bigger, I guarantee. I sure as heck don't need to impress some kiddie with how quick my BMW is. I drive a BMW. That should be enough to impress anyone.

320d xDrive with the Sports Auto.
For the last 2 years, drove in Comfort/D 95% of the time. Probably 4% Sport/M. And one single 100 mile trip in Eco Pro. I flashed xHP last week and since then done 200 miles, 75% Comfort/D commuting on motorways, then the other 25% Sport/Sport+ in S or M shift mode. I don't have adaptive suspension or variable speed steering, so other than the throttle response and gearbox behaviour, I'm not entirely sure what the difference between Comfort and Sport is on my car. Pushing very hard on a shakedown on a dry road I used DSC OFF rather than Sport+, as it is more progressive throttle, and would use that if ever on a track.

Probably 1/2 and 1/2 comfort/sport depending on traffic flow and mood. If I'm droning along on the open highway I'll go eco just to take advantage of a few mpg.

Agree completely until the last two sentences. I could not care less (my care level is zero!) about what anyone else thinks about my car or how fast it is. I drive the car and use the mode that feels best to me. Of what possible importance is impressing one of the hundreds of millions of random strangers with whom we share the road?

Different issue entirely. Having fun for oneself is fine. Caring about beating or impressing anyone else is meaningless. If one is old enough to have these cars and is still motivated by seeking status, Mr. Maslow has a hierarchy level to offer.
