Coilovers and EDC
Hi, I'm trying to decide on coilovers for my 2017 BMW 340 Xdrive with the EDC option I was wondering if both these kits will work with my factory system? I would like to keep my variable steering option on my car which is something I read will not work anymore if I were to code out the EDC option or use the EDC Delete kit from KW
Basically just want to make sure these ones are just direct plug and play and will allow me to keep pretty much everything else factory. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kw-suspe...ng/1022000ukt/ https://www.ecstuning.com/b-kw-suspe...it/39020029kt/ |

Another option to consider are KW Street Comfort coilovers. They include the EDC delete kit.
Can you post a source for variable sport steering not functioning with the EDC delete? |

It's unlikely that EDC Delete module will impact variable steering in any way.
EDC Delete module simply tells EDC control unit that adaptive shocks are working as required. The control unit for variable steering is not aware of anything being different. |

Oh, I was planning on coding out the EDC but I guess that is probably what would cause me to loose my VSS.
Only reason I wanted to code it out was because it seemed easier to do and also some people said the EDC delete kit didn't work for them. But I guess if I want to keep the VSS i'll have to go with the kit so that I don't have to spend over 3k for a set of coils |

This is only my humble opinion. EDC Delete kit is a better option because it allows the vehicle to function as designed and built.
For example, coding out the functionality of adaptive suspension control unit can be erased if the dealer has to reprogram the vehicle during a repair visit. |

KW makes 2 options for F30s with EDC. Both are part of their DDC line. The one you've linked, and the other which is "plug and play." The latter is what you want, as it is truly plug and play. The other one (which you linked), is designed for cars that don't have an existing EDC system. Therefore, it comes with a bunch of additional wiring, buttons, etc.
I recently installed the DDC Plug and Play system on my F31 xDrive Wagon. So far so good - the rocker switch (Comfort, Sport, Sport+) works exactly like factory. If you go this route, I'd triple check the part number with KW. Even their reps gave me the wrong part number originally. Your only other option, which I don't think is available yet (apparently has had several delays), is from Bilstein.

You are correct. It is not listed on the KW website.
