Tyre brand on new car

Just wondering if it is random luck as to what brand of tyre you get on a new car

All my previous cars have come with Bridgestone Potenzas but my latest car has Goodyear F1 Eagles

You've scored a goal there!
I think it will be tyre manufacturer price & availability driven.

My 320d had Bridgestone S001's I think. But they weren't great. My current 330d has the Goodyear Eagles and I have just replaced with like for like recently. In my opinion great RFT.

My 330xd came with the Bridgestones, while my mates 435d came with Pirelli P Zero.

The Bridgestone's weren't the best but they do last for ages - probably not great if you want to swap them out!

My X5 came with Dunlop Sport Maxx GT which I've been impressed with (for a run flat) so far.

As has been said, I guess it's luck of the draw.

Dunlop Sport Maxx are good (had them on my old Golf), but they do wear quite quickly.

Depends what car you buy.....knew mine was arriving with MPSS

My previous F30 came with 19" goodyear eagle F1's, a great tyre, especially for runcraps!

Had the Bridgestones on an E92 & they were awful buy the Goodyears on my F32 are excellent, had to check to make sure they were run flats, they have obviously come on a bit in the last few years.

Had Bridgestones, they were shite in every manner, now have Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and wondering if I need less grip on the rear axle - they're not as fun in corners but definitely quicker and quieter.

Guess you could say it is pot luck. It depends on who the dealership were backing at the time and even the BMW network. There was a lot of scaremongering by our local dealership when run flats first came out and owners on finance were told there was no other choice of tyre. Bridgecraps being one of the first were kept on by a few I knew purely because they intended to return the car. When the car was returned the tyre brand wasn't even checked!

Goodyear FTW!
