Measure Engine Oil Level Not Working
Got a 2013 BMW 328i F30 N26 @ 78K miles and the measure engine oil level just does not measure (ranges from 1% to 80%) so I did an oil change with OEM filter and BMW 0W-30 oil. Made sure to correctly change all the o-rings / @ operating temp and still wont' complete.
Also @ 69K miles, I got a low engine oil pressure warning (really hoped it wasn't the feared timing chain & guide failure) and took it to the dealership. SA said the tech found metal bits in the non OEM filter and recommended an oil change with OEM parts. Seemed to fix the issue but warning has come back up at 78K miles. (Before oil change) I don't believe I hear an engine whine but maybe my hearing just isn't good. Can the low engine oil pressure cause the measure engine oil level to fail? Really don't want to go to the stealership again. Any advice will be much appreciated. |

The system is designed that way.
