Race Chip GTS
To anyone who has added a Race Chip GTS tune to their 320i or 328i, can you tell me how it is?

Save your money, I've gone thru a few piggybacks and my best choice was installing Bootmod3, just an overall better product and doesn't tamper with sensors (which possibly can save your motor)

Generally, I prefer to answer the question rather than ignore it and recommend another product, but I agree with the above post. With flash tuning now readily available on the F Series, there's few if any reasons to buy a piggyback.

Thank you for your response. What is bootmod 3? And what does it do?

Flashtuning is a process that completely re-writes the DME in order to increase performance, rather than a piggyback which just manipulates a few variables and sensors. Because flash tunes have total control over the DME and it's parameters/variables, it's safer for the engine than a piggyback, which only has control over a few. Flash tuning for the F3x is available by OBDII, so you plug your computer into your car through the OBDII and tune away. Search around the forums for more info, there is plenty of it. I'd recommend bootmod3 like the other poster did. Here's a general discussion thread that should tell you all you need to know about it. It's long, but read through it and it should answer your questions . https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1476333

My friend.... before you go off and start modding things, I highly suggest you start just reading through the forums and in general learning about your car in its current state. I don't mean to offend, however based on your questions, I would say power is the least of your concern at this time.

Hi OP,
To answer your question, Race chip is a reliable tune. Not the best value in my opinion since the JB4 has more features, power and safety failsafes. As mentioned above Bootmod3 is an excellent option as well. I can help you get either one of these 3 options
