4 series winters 16 inch different to 3 series?
Looking at some winters for my wifes 4 series convertible, its got standard brakes so no need for large wheels
Looking online loads of 16 inch with 205 60 16 but according to a local dealer you need 225 55 16 for a 4 series There are far less 225 wheel sets online and those that are there are much more expensive So can i safely fit 205s to a 4 series? |

Potential down side to this is the overall handling, may seem a bit squirmy, hence the lower wall and slightly wider tread (225) being recommended. I'm assuming that you have either 225x45x18 or 225x40x19's on the front at the moment. If you went to 17" you would be looking at 205x55x17 or 225x50x17 to keep as close as possible to the original wheel overall diameter. Do some research here.....https://tiresize.com/calculator/ Also a 205x60x16 on a square set up will look like a pushbike wheel in those arches !! |

Normally people upgrade their wheels which upgrades the spec of the car insurance wise may be ok providing they are made aware degrading the wheel size will not bode well with insurance and in the unfortunate event of an accident the assessors take wheel size tyre depth and pressures so I would err on the side of caution.

I've got a set of 205/60/16 (steels) They fit my F31 320d (standard brakes).
Reminds me I need to ditch them asap, as they won't fit the new car. |
