Help/Advice please....Work VSXX 20" - Re - Lipping (widening wheels)

Morning.

I have a set of Work VSXX 20" wheels and am thinking of widening them to get a more aggressive look. I feel the Lips on my wheels aren't wide enough, it might be because they're matt black (i know....wrong choice of colour).

Current Specs are:

8.5J x 20 ET32 Lip size is 2.5"
10J x 20 ET38 Lip size is 3"

The specs once widened will be:

Front: 9J x 20 ET 26 Lip size 3"
Rear 10.5J x 20 ET 42 Lip Size 3.5"

I know I'd need to change the tires, the stretch look would be better and I'd have more chance of getting them inside the arch than outside of it...I want to avoid that at all cost. Fitment needs to be spot on.

Currently:

245/35/20 Front
275/30/20 Rear

Moving to:

235/35/20 Front
255/30/20 Rear

Will these fit or are they too wide? I think I'll need camber arms at the very least. Anyone with these sizes have any advice, would be greatly appreciated. It's a lot of work splitting these wheels to re-Lip so I'd rather avoid that if I can help it.

Pictures of my car for context...

I'd really really appreciate any advice you guys could give me....you're the experts after all!!!

TIA

G

Just a word of caution, the rear tires will have at least 0.6" smaller diameter than the fronts, and may not look good due to reverse rake. With such rear rims, there might be a room for a bit wider tires; search or somebody to confirm.

Thanks for the response...

I get the following when working out the calculations of the diameter:

Front:
Existing 679.5mm
New 672.5mm

Rear:
Existing 673mm
New 673mm

So the tires look more of a match with the new setup.

I get very different results for the rears, yours seems to be for 275/30/20 Plus the stretch in the rear can make the difference even bigger.

Take a look at my fitment here it's fairly similar:

20x9 et25 front
20x10 et40 rear

Your front wheels will be near enough the same and rear will poke ~5mm more

I had to run 215/35/20 up front to avoid rubbing at that height, you should be fine at your height though i'd consider a 225/35 maybe instead of 235/35

Rears were 255/30/20

Camber was at -3.3 all round
